TLDR: BED BUG INFESTATION. DO NOT BOOK HERE. See Photos. New bites all over my body every morning after sleeping here. Got bed bug bites on both my partner and I every night here. We got new bed bug bites all over my body every morning we stayed at this hotel. We originally booked a 3rd night with this hotel but left as my body got covered in bites, and I had to buy medication to stop the itch. I also found bed bug skeletons on the mattress. The Details: We booked 3 nights with this hotel. After the first night at the hotel, we got a few bites on my body. I was scared, and isolated all my luggage and clothes. We thought it hopefully was a mosquito. HOWEVER, after a second night at the hotel, we woke up and my body got covered in MORE BITES on my FACE, ARMS, WRISTS, and LEGS. we immediately showed this to the staff at the hotel, who was incredibly dismissive, kept saying “it can’t be at the hotel”, and that “it could be mosquito bites” - these bites were in clusters on my body, and only happened overnight at the hotel and did NOT look like mosquito bites. We did not want to stay another night at this hotel and left. We asked for a refund on Agoda for the two nights I stayed, and the one night we paid for but did not stay. Agoda then informed us that the refund can not be processed as the hotel claimed that we apparently “broke the rules because we smashed their mirror/ coat hangers/ left a cigarette on the floor” - all of which are NOT TRUE, and we have NEVER DONE. Why would we do that when we want a refund from the hotel? In addition, why would any customer, especially a platinum member of Agoda, do this? They also have NO Proof. We then went back to the hotel to ask why they lied to Agoda, and to demand a refund. They agreed to giving a refund and said it needs to be processed on Agoda. They admitted to lying to Agoda about the smashed mirror claims so they do not need to be shut down due to health violations. We trusted them and left to process the refund through Agoda. THEN, the NEXT DAY, Agoda sent me a email saying this hotel is demanding compensation for the smashed mirror. The hotel LIED to Agoda such that they do not need to be closed down due to health violations. We have proof of the room condition before we left the room, and found bed bugs poo stains on their mattresses. They are now not replying to Agoda staff enquiries as well as my enquiries. The truth is that we got new bed bug bites every morning after a night at this hotel. The hotel staff was dismissive, and then lied to Agoda to avoid health violations. No refunds were offered. What is funny is that this is not the first time this hotel has bed bugs. A traveller on Trip Advisor also got bed bug bites after staying at this hotel, and the hotel staff did not handle that case well either. Shame on you Hotel de Clermont, you bring such a bad name to Paris and the people of France.

Simple budget hotel in a good location. Clientele was a mixture of tourists and business travellers. I was in town to speak at OECD with an extra day to rest and enjoy Paris. This was a last minute three night booking. Do not be put off by the down scale entry, front desk and sitting area. My room was accessed via the street rather than lobby with a climb up some very well worn stairs. The room itself was reasonably clean and comfortable. Wifi worked but TV was erratic. Small ensuite bathroom with sink, toilet and shower with good water pressure. Tiny shampoo packets and soap. Small fridge and kitchen sink. Hooks, hangers and a shelf for clothing. Two twin beds, a desk chair and small table. Room was cleaned every day. Tip: Bring your own cup for brushing teeth. My second floor room facing a courtyard was quiet. Tip: Rooms facing the street would have been plagued by noise from crowds gathered in front of the bar. Tip: A ground level room in the courtyard would not have been very private. The hotel bar was reasonably priced and favored by locals. I enjoyed mixing a bit with the neighborhood crowd. Tip: Enjoy a glass of beer or wine with good company paying local prices. Front desk hours were limited. Tip: Suggest making advance arrangements if you are planning to check in or check out at odd hours. The location was excellent. The hotel is located on a nondescript street midway between Montmartre and Pigalle. Walk two blocks uphill to the Abbesses Metro station, That square is a gateway to Montmartre with many touristic attractions. Walk two blocks downhill to the Pigalle Metro station, a neighborhood with assorted sleazy businesses and cheap food. Bottom Line: The property was serviceable. Reasonable value for the money. Fine if one does not allow the "Grand Hotel" name to inflate expectations.

So, I chose this place by the comments and the comments were true. So, yeah, too bad there is no elevator but so do a lot of hotels in Paris. They helped me with the luggage on arrival which was very nice and uncommon in below 4-star hotels. The place is great to feel Montmartre which is quite special and you have all those nice bars and restaurants to enjoy in the night nearby. It is also 20 minutes walk from Gare du Nord train station. The rooms are clean and nice and so it's the bathroom. There is no breakfast but again you can have great options nearby from €4 coffee and croissant or €10+ if you are looking for something bigger. The bar downstairs is quite cool to meet odd people from the city and other tourists. This place is all about the location and the vibe.

I am just back from a trip which my friend booked for a special birthday treat for me . She sent me the link to the website before we booked . We agreed it looked like a lovely small hotel and perfectly positioned for our stay. On arrival we were a little disappointed with the entrance but we got over it . The members of staff we encountered were lovely guys and helpful but that’s really were it stopped . The room (no. 16) was at the back on the first floor . It was small but clean . A tiny wardrobe with 3 coat hangers, 2 small bedside stools and a small table described as a desk . We lived out of our cases for 4 nights . The bathroom was not great , mould all on the sealant in the shower, two brackets on the wall but no shelf and toilet roll holder missing so no actual space to even leave your toothbrush .There were small bars of soap and sachets of shampoo … there was a hairdryer on the wall with mirror tiles that were too high to see in and not really space in the room to actually blow dry your hair ( thank goodness I took my own ) on a positive the room was cleaned daily and fresh towels provided) . There was no food available for breakfast as shown in the pictures online . The coffee machine was hardly filled and when my friend asked for milk for her tea non was available …There is a bar attached to the side of the hotel which is very dated but seems very popular at nighttime . the day we booked out we left our cases thinking they would be put in a secure cupboard … when we returned they were sat in reception along with many others of people who were also leaving. Although there were cameras nobody was actually there to keep an eye on them ….. |the wifi was awful hardly working most of the time and we turned the tv on once to only find one French channel and nothing else …..|we lived with it all as it was a place to sleep whilst we were in Paris . It is well suited to get the metro with at least 3 stations close by . Not far from the Moulin Rouge and Sacre Coeur . |I’m sorry but at €200 a night this is not good value in my opinion.|I must stress that the staff were very friendly and the hotel seemed to be booked up … |I hope this review helps when considering booking here …… it definitely needs a...
