TOURISTS BEWARE After a long day scaling stairs to the Sacre Coeur of Paris we came down to have an Aperol Sprits and a nice scene. The staff inside kindly indicated the restroom and accommodated my lack of French. When I returned I find that my boyfriend has been rebuked for not having ordered food with the beverages and our server disdainfully has brought us bottles of water when we requested free water even though we were not the only couple on the patio with only beverages. He also elected to punish us by not offering the olives and service he proffered to the other nearby tables. This is a surprise to me as we have had fantastic and friendly service without any misunderstandings in any other establishment. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant as the server we had on the patio was openly complaining and was unhappy to have us. At the end we found that the water we had not wanted was not only more expensive somehow than a Coca-Cola, but that the server made us very uncomfortable with his unhappy presence. Do not go.
Prices came out to 11€ for water and 11€ for an Aperol Sprits. The cocktail is not overpriced for the area. Hope they fix the staff problem! Until then go to the restaurant right next door-...
Read moreBeautiful cafe with great sidewalk seating. We stopped for a wine and a small dish to share. There were say 10 tables full outside, that’s it.
Our waiter was the absolute worst we encountered on our month long trip through France and Germany and other countries.
We have experienced fantastic service everywhere with quick, attentive, happy wait staff who work so hard. If one person could be the absolute opposite of those descriptions, this was our waiter at La Sancerre. Had to wave him down after waiting a while to be seen even though they were not busy, when he did come over he literally didn’t smile, no greeting nothing. I said Bonjour and smiled, blank stare back. So we ordered, food and it arrived promptly and was delicious but was put in front of us without a word spoken.
We didn’t bother staying for another drink as preferred to take our business elsewhere due to service. When paying the bill the machine was thrust on front of us with again not a word spoken. No thank you nothing. If he thought he was being cool, he wasn’t. All our other dining experiences were...
Read moreI dined at this resto on July 2nd. The two stars are for the food, which was not bad. I had what amounted to a fried chicken salad. It was called Poke Bowl Poulet Crispy. It was quite good and so was the glass of rosé. The problem was the waiter wearing the man bun. He was quite rude. The place was very busy because there was a performance taking place in the building across from the resto and lots of people were there for that. So, I understand he may have been pressed. He didn’t have to be rude, though. He demonstrated zero patience with my attempt to order in french and then he left and just didn’t come back to me. He only came back to me when I moved tables, which I knew might be a problem, but I didn’t have a chance to ask until he came to scold me. I saw him be kind to other people, so I can only imagine that his initial attitude was one of impatience with my language skills. He also ripped me off for about 5 euros, but that was partly my fault. He could have been honest about it, though. He opted to take complete advantage. Anyway,...
