If I came back to Paris I would literally only book this hotel again because the people working here were so nice!
Everyone working at the hotel was so friendly and chatty.
Everyone we spoke to was so patient and happy to help. Even on Sunday night when everything was closed for the night, the gentleman on reception was kind enough to run over and serve us at the bar :)
Everything is so lovely and well designed, thoughtful additions to the room and very stylish. The rooms are a fine size, if you have full 30kg luggage you might struggle but for a weekend in Paris with hand luggage it's perfect.
Everything is more eco friendly than usual as well, normal size toiletries to use instead of those wasteful mini toiletries that just get thrown away, biodegradable teabags instead of all those plastic milk and coffee capsules, even the kettle was stylish lol.
The bar area was lovely and we had a drink there every night, the cocktails are really interesting and well made.
We felt really happy and relieved that we chose such a lovely little hotel for our trip, Paris can be pretty stressful and hectic so it's like coming into an oasis of calm at the end of the day.
Be warned that there's a bar nearby that plays loud music, the windows are well soundproofed but nothing could compete with that bar - if you get annoyed by music at night, ask for a top floor room! It didn't bother us as we could sleep through it.
The location is great, there's a nice restaurant in the hotel or one on the next corner along if you don't want to search for somewhere to eat on your first night. The main road has loads of cafes/restaurants, it's a little touristy but not that bad, the food is still nice.

Nothing was bad really. There's a loud bar nearby so just ask in advance to be in the top floor if you're staying on a Friday night. I don't know if that was just a one off for a party or something though? There was no noise on Saturday night. In general the area was very quiet at night.
The rooms might seem a little small if you're not used to older, European cities - bear in mind all hotel rooms are...
Read moreThis was our third visit to Monsieur Aristide, and we were so looking forward to it. Sadly, although we were blown away by the quality of the service and the attentiveness of the staff on our first two visits, this time we were disappointed. We stayed three nights and this was our experience. We arrived mid afternoon Sunday, and asked if we could book a meal for the evening. No, the restaurant was closed. So we went out for a meal, returned round 10pm and asked for a drink at the bar. No, the bar was closed. Next day the same thing, could we book a meal? No, it's Monday. Yet every other bar and restaurant in the vicinity was open and doing a roaring trade. Returned in the evening (didn't bother to ask for a drink) and found the breakfast things from the breakfast we had ordered that morning were still on our terrace attracting flies, wasps etc. Tuesday we finally managed to book a table at the restaurant and the waiter took our order, then asking us what we wanted for dessert. We said we'd decide later. "No" he said "you have to decide now because the chef wants to go home early". By this time we were seriously asking each other, what has gone wrong with this place? The procedure for our checkout the next day did nothing to make a better impression either. Surely it should have been a simple matter to present my husband with an itemised bill of costs incurred during out stay, but instead the receptionist had to scuttle off into the back room because there was "a problem with the bill" and when he returned he just asked for a sum of money without giving any details, which my husband had to ask for. We then asked about the sum of money taken as a deposit on our arrival, and were told that could not be returned until the room had been inspected, as though a couple of geriatric pensioners were going do do a Pete Townshend and throw the telly through the French windows. It really grieves me to write all this, we we absolutely fell in love with Monsieur Aristide the first time we visited, but it was awful to see standards slipping in this way and I fear we will not be going back. Hopefully it was just a glitch and future visitors will find the previous high...
Read moreMy husband & I stayed for 3 nights for the first part of our honeymoon last week. Beautiful location/hotel, wonderful service, and exceptional food and drinks. The rooms were incredibly small which we somewhat expected since it’s Europe. But even New Yorkers like ourselves who are used to small spaces were a bit shocked at how small it was considering we got a higher priced room w/ a terrace. No room at all to stand or walk. We definitely wished we looked into the room size more before booking this for our honeymoon so we don’t fault the hotel- but definitely unfortunate. Our only serious concern we had was the lack of transparency regarding payment. We were told by our travel agent that we would pay on-site during check in or check out. On our wedding day in NYC a few days before checking in, my husband got a random charge for $400 that we thought was fraud since it was under another hotel name, but turned out to be from this hotel for “the first night”- strange but okay. Then when we checked in we got charged for the remaining 2 nights plus incidentals which made sense. However, when we checked out we were then forced to pay for the entire stay AGAIN. We were told that the first 2 charges would drop off, but this means that for 3 nights we were charged almost $2,500 if you add up all the separate charges. Even though the first two charges were going to drop, that is still over $1,000 we didn’t have access to for the rest of our vacation. The hotel’s reasoning was because we didn’t pay up front when we booked in March. As very frequent travelers we have never experienced being charged this way anywhere else. Our travel agent also confirmed that this wasn’t communicated to her and she will now have to note this to any future clients who want to book here. Again, all in all we had a great time and everyone was SO nice. But this unfortunately made us regret booking here and had us looking forward to our next destination a...
