The France Eiffel Hotel is invested with bed bugs! This was my first solo trip to France and was treated with such disrespect that it ruined the entire visit. Although Paris is a beautiful city, I do not believe I will ever return or recommend going because of the egregious treatment and overall service received by the staff and their director.
They offered to wash and dry my clothes, and move me to another room. Advised not to return before 2pm, I purposely stayed away to give the staff time to have everything completed. Upon my return approximately 6 or 7 pm, I walk in to find that the morning staff did not communicate with the night auditor, and it appeared to him I wasn’t registered at the hotel. After explaining several times, he finally found the new reservation and advised that my room was ready. I asked about my clothes and he knew nothing about them and was would Ifind my clothes washed and folded in the room. To my disbelief, there was nothing but my empty luggage in the room. I go back to the reception and advise my clothes are missing. Of course he knows nothing because of the lack of communication. As he is frantically looking for notes, I decided to go smoke in their central courtyard. I step into the courtyard to find all my clothes thrown across a metal table and it’s 4 metal chairs (including one chair pushed up against plants and bushes with insects flying around them. Clothes still damp, I bring the night auditor and he thought it was perfectly fine. As I started to collect my clothing, humiliated by the fact that when I looked around, there were people peering from their windows watching me. Needless to say, it’s been 3 weeks since I submitted my complaint, along with several phone calls made, and I have yet to hear back from anyone. A friend from France offered to assist, and they have given her the runaround identical to mine; stating that they do not know when the director is in and they will give him or her the message to return our calls.
My advise is to stay away from The France Eiffel Hotel! Although location may seem great, you will most certainly regret...
Read moreStaying at the Hôtel France Eiffel was everything that I needed it to be as a first-time visitor to Paris. The room was a reasonable size, and when using it as a base for city exploration, it was a comfortable place to store my luggage and sleep. The hotel is within walking distance of several local amenities: corner stores, cafés, eateries, and the metro - all of which allowed for it to be a convenient place to stay, though not picturesque. However, if I were to return to Paris, the Hôtel France Eiffel presents several areas that I would wish to avoid. Firstly, the hotel boasts a view of the Eiffel Tower, which while being true, was a little exaggerated as all that's visible is a portion of the tower (obstructed by the hotel sign), the strobe lights, and some illuminations. The service was minimal and non-intrusive which was suitable for when you wish to be left to your own devices, but also imposed a sense of isolation and independence when some helpful service would have been welcome. The bathroom was appropriately clean for a lower-cost hotel, but the toiletries seemed as though they had been on the side for some time as there were some marks under them that revealed a less than thorough cleaning. If you are looking for a romantic excursion to Paris, you may be better off digging a little deeper into your wallet, but if you are coming to Paris to explore and absorb the culture and history that the sprawling urban environment has to offer, the Hôtel France Eiffel is a pleasurable stay: a quiet port in a busy city that allows a jumping-off point into Paris, whilst providing the minimum, and arguably appropriate, requirement for...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights with a 18 month old baby. This is by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed at and we travel to a lot of countries. It should be inspected by health officials. The first room they put us in had black mold all over it in the bathroom and main room next to the bed had wall paper falling apart revealing mold inside the walls (please see pictures attached). It is honestly inhabitable. My baby touched all of it and so we had to request to get changed to another room. The staff is far from friendly and actually very rude (except for one night manager who agreed to move us). They do not even greet you when you say hi to them. After much trouble we were able to change the room, which also had mold (last picture). We really considered leaving and finding another hotel even though we would lose a lot of money. On top of all this, one of the breakfast lady was incredibly rude, told us we have to sit at a 2 person table when we were clearly 3 people. She went to complain about us in front of us to the front desk, all because she did not want to clean a bigger table. Forget offering a high chair, what did she expect we would leave our baby on the floor? Furthermore, we locked and left our luggage in the cloak room and we noticed the lock combination was different when we picked it up. This hotel does not even deserve one star, it is barely together and has no amenities. Suggest future travelers to avoid at all costs for your own...
