The WORST hotel in Paris! DO NOT BOOK! It's unbelievable, how this hotel is still trying to prove their MISTAKE as normality. For the 1st time in Paris, we decided to book directly with a hotel and book a published 3* property, well that is the LAST time.
The receptionist YANN JACQUECIN was not helpful at all, but arrogant and unprofessional & I have real proof of that. It is not normal to send the clients back and forth around Paris on a wild goose chase on the basis of lies about monetary laws in France because the hotel cannot be bothered to have change and accommodate the client payment method which is accepted in every establishment in Europe! IT IS A DISCRACE TO CALL THE POLICE DURING MY VACATION - because of a hotel TAKING OUR LUGGAGE HOSTAGE with our PASSPORTS which is ILLEGAL, and treating us as criminals, even though the money were in front of them. We asked to pay since the moment we stepped in the Hotel and every day after that!!! Shall I mention that the receptionist Yann said: "next time, have money to book the hotel". What? We had money to pay and your property couldn't take it! That's a HOTEL problem not the CLIENTS problem as the POLICE illustrated to both the "GM" and RECEPTIONIST YANN JACQUECIN. Moreover, who is this person, to talk to me in such a disgusting way?! As a client, I can pay in the desirable method of payment - upon reservation I clearly indicated that I will be paying by cash with a big note. As a response, it was said: "it is fine, we accept everything". Furthermore, NO WHERE was it stated that we COULDNT PAY with a 500 EUR, also pointed out by the POLICE. Upon check-in, no introductions were done about the property, no city maps provided. However, in front of POLICE OFFICERS, the receptionist YANN JACQUECIN did very long check in, mentioning all the above to clients from France. The conclusion: there is no professionalism, you treat your clients as you wish depending of where they are from! Dirty towels were mentioned by my husband a COUPLE OF times in the morning and in the evening to the NIGHT AUDITOR. Conclusion - NEW towels provided - DIRTY YANN JACQUECIN the receptionist clearly stated to us, that due to CoVID-19 the rooms are NOT cleaned daily, so the sign of "do not disturb" doesn't effect that. We are frequent travelers to many destinations around the world, yet never had such a HORRIBLE situation with the hotel no matter their category from 3* to 5. We always pay our bookings in advance or upon check-in. Thus, it is no surprise to me that you received our payment, yet, NO CONFIRMATION and NO CHECK-OUT INVOICE as requested by my HUSBAND and CONFIRMED by the receptionist YANN JACQUECIN in front of the POLICE. This is STANDARD PROCEDURE in every hotel no matter the country and category. Consider yourself lucky that my HUSBAND doesn't take this matter further to the appropriate tourism and hospitality boards in France. You may publish yourself as a 3 but the standing of your hotel, room conditions, service and facilities are...
Read moreThis hotel made an unforgettable impression on my girlfriend and myself. Unfortunately I mean that in a (very) negative way. We stayed in the hotel for two nights, and paid more than enough to have a nice and cozy stay. I am not one to easily write a negative review, but I must warn future visitors of the dangers lurking in the hotel! Our first night went without a problem, but our second night was a catastrophe! We came in late, at around 1 at night, and while I was brushing my teeth I noticed cockroaches running on the wall! One was hiding under the shower, while another was running through the cosmetics of my girlfriend. After a lot of efforts I managed to kill one, but the other one escaped. I went downstairs to talk to the receptionist, but although he was very sorry, he could not do anything. We had to sleep in the room, knowing there were cockroaches around us. Sleeping well was no option when knowing these creatures are running next to you. The next day I went to see the receptionist, he also was very sorry for the incident, but according to the hotel standards this inconvenient error is normal to occur in big cities like Paris. Later that day I was able to speak to the manager, but although she was also very sorry, she was aware of the cockroach problem. But she couldn’t do anything, only refund us the last night. Why the last night only? Because according to her logic, there were no cockroaches the first night. They must have checked in a day later. According to her there is also no problem having cockroaches in a hotel because they are “harmless” and Paris is a big city, so it is “normal” to have them. They are a spreader of diseases and infections and are a clear health violation. So in the end we got a part of our money back, 140euro’s was returned of the initial 320euro’s. Why not half or everything? Because our last night was cheaper, I the manger could do nothing about that. It was “not in her power” to refund half or everything. So please, if you do not want to stay in hotel where cockroaches are a norm. Stay away! There are much nicer hotels in the same price category where you have no unwanted visitors at night who can crawl into your luggage. For this service, price and health violations I would recommend to go to a...
Read moreThe Hotel Eiffel Capitol is within 5 minutes walking distance to the Metro’s station Dupleix and about 15-20 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower. Easy to get to and from the Charles de Gaulle airport and the Eurostar (in less than an hour actually). Many coffee shops and restaurants to suit all budgets & the patisseries dotted around the area of the hotel are amazing! Plenty of French food & deserts to try! We stayed only one night at the Hotel Eiffel Capitol in a double room with twin beds put together. We felt that the room could have been better ventilated before our arrival. Room was clean but bathroom’s sink water was slow to go down the drain so we informed the receptionist at the checkout next day and a staff member was deployed in front of us to sort it out. The Continental breakfast was plentiful but don’t expect full English breakfast! …you are in France after all. Lovely fresh juice, mini croissants, cereals, dry prunes & apricots, jam, salami, cheeses, ham, streaky bacon and mini sausages. There was also a nice selection of tea and coffee. We paid an extra £15 for two breakfast to be included in our room price when we booked on Booking.com and feel it was a fair price. All areas in the hotel were well maintained, clean and the reception was attended 24 hours. Our luggage was also kept in a safe room as we arrived 4 hours before our hotel check-in. The Receptionist was very accommodating and offered to keep our luggage after we vacated the room next day too so we did have a very nice meal nearby and a good stroll before going back to England by Eurostar. A very pleasant experience. Well recommend and I will definitely return to Hotel Eiffel...
