Melagodo — Restaurant in Paris

We stumbled upon this restaurant as we happened to be in the neighbourhood, and didn’t want to travel far.

Upon arrival, a young gentleman greeted us, opening the door with a smile and great demeanour. We notified him that we didn’t have any reservations. The young gentleman (whom we asked him his name after our lunch - Sami) did not pass any judgment, but welcomed us.

We were seated and ordered three dishes, and it was wonderful. Sami and his colleague, an African-French lad (sorry we did not manage to catch his name) - both were excellent at their jobs. The background old Italian music just brought myself and my husband back to Italy whilst devouring our meals.

While we were the only last patron left, the team weren’t hasty by giving us our bill, instead they allowed us to enjoy and we sat with our espressos.

I was very disappointed with the service. After searching on Google for top-rated nearby restaurants, Melagado stood out with nearly 5 stars, so I was eager for an excellent experience. Unfortunately, it turned into a nightmare. We had a reservation and arrived on time; our table was ready, which was a good start. But then everything went downhill. The waiter took about 20 minutes to approach us. When he finally took our order, the first course didn’t arrive until 25 minutes later. We had to request salt, pepper, and olive oil, which seemed to be in scarce supply throughout the restaurant. After waiting an hour, we asked about our main course and were told the order hadn’t been placed. Our meal finally arrived after an hour and 20 minutes. While the food was average, the service was terrible. They did offer tiramisu to make up for it, but still, it was a frustrating...

Severely disappointing experience. Reserved a table for 1 person and was completely neglected. Upon entry there was no greeting and many walk-in customers waiting by the door, these were prioritised over myself and even when seated the waitress walked straight past me. After walking to the bar to get someone’s attention, I was directed but not shown to a table with no menu or offer of any drinks or appetisers. I was placed in a corner and had no choice of table. Upon experiencing this, I tried to get the attention of other employees, one of which walked away due to being on the phone and the other blatantly ignored me despite me standing right next to her. Following this, I announced to the barman who I spoke to initially that I was leaving, who seemed completely unbothered by this. If you value customer service, do not go to...
