I know many people had a positive experience with this hotel, but we had absolutely the opposite experience. Our first-ever family trip to Europe has been forever ruined due to the hotel’s lack of security, responsibility, and professionalism. My family and I booked three nights at Room 403 in May 2022. We checked in on a Friday, and the first night went OK. The next morning, we went outside for a few hours during the day. When we came back in the late afternoon that day, our room was in complete disarray. It was clear someone had gone through all of our stuff and rummaged through our personal bags and luggage. We carefully went through all our belongings and counted the items that went missing: some cash, jewelries, a newly-purchased handbag, AirPod, two iPhones, and many other small items. Bear in mind we had the “DO NOT DISTURB” sign on the door outside our room, but nonetheless, for some reason, our room had been serviced.
We immediately informed the hotel staff of the theft. This is when our frustration with the hotel started. They immediately denied any responsibility without even asking us whether we were OK. They didn’t even offer a word of apology until the morning we checked out 2 days later. Getting a clear message from the hotel they were not going to do anything about it, we went to a local police station on our own at around 6:30pm and filed theft reports spending over 7 hours there on a Saturday night.
When we confronted one of the hotel managers the following Monday (the staff said the manager doesn’t work on the weekend, so we had to wait), the very first question she asked was: “Are you sure the theft occurred at this hotel?” We were utterly shocked for this type of response from the management. She was trying to accuse my family of lying about the theft and shifting the liability to us. When we requested they check the security camera footage of the hallway of the floor where our room was, she said there are no security cameras in the hotel except the 1st floor lobby. Then, we requested they contact the maid who serviced our room on the day the theft occurred. They refused again, saying the maid has been a long-time employee, and she would never do such thing. Then we requested they contact the person who refills water bottles in the hotel rooms daily (who is, apparently, a different person from the maid). Again, they refused. We then wrote a letter to the management and requested they reimburse us. They denied and asked us to show evidence that the theft took place. My family and I fought until the very end of our stay, and the hotel did absolutely NOTHING for us.
Here are a few problems with the hotel security we noticed, which we hope you will take into consideration in choosing this hotel for your stay: (1) there are no security cameras other than the main lobby (1st floor); (2) as soon as you walk in to the hotel there are stairs to the basement where there’s an elevator that will take you to hallways of the all floors where rooms are located, meaning anyone can easily walk in and out of the hotel from the streets using this elevator without ever being noticed or caught in the camera; (3) a DO NOT DISTURB sign may be gone missing mysteriously; (4) the main lobby door that is supposed to be opened only from the staff inside never operated that way during our 3-night stay and anyone could just walk in to the hotel without catching a receptionist’s attention when they were dealing with other guests; (5) in the event of a theft, the hotel will not do anything for you, so you just go to a local police station and file theft reports by yourself.
Suffice to say, our experience has been ABSOLUTELY TRAUMATIZING. Had the hotel been a little more professional and caring for their guests, then we might have felt differently. But, no, unfortunately, everyone reading this review deserves to know how this hotel operates and treats their guests. We will never forget the way we were treated...
Read moreDuring my recent stay in Paris, I had the pleasure of staying at this charming hotel that left me with a memorable experience. Situated in the heart of the city, this hotel offered a unique glimpse of the Eiffel Tower from some of its rooms, although not a complete view.
One of the first things that struck me was the warm welcome we received from the receptionist upon arrival. Their cordial and pleasant attitude set a positive tone for our entire stay. It's those personal touches that make a hotel stay truly special.
One of the standout features of this hotel was its location. It was conveniently located near many of Paris's most famous attractions, making it easy for us to explore the city. We could easily walk(10 minutes) to the Eiffel Tower, which was just a stone's throw away, and also access public transportation to reach other landmarks and neighborhoods.
However, it's important to note that the rooms, while comfortable, were not very spacious. If you're looking for expansive accommodations, this might not be the ideal choice. Nevertheless, the rooms were well-maintained and offered a cozy atmosphere that suited our needs perfectly.
The hotel's overall ambiance was delightful. It had a charming, classic Parisian feel, which added to the overall experience. The attention to detail in the decor and furnishings was evident, and it created a welcoming atmosphere.
In terms of amenities, the hotel offered all the essentials. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and the housekeeping services were prompt and efficient. The hotel staff were always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests we had, further enhancing our stay.
The highlight of our stay, as mentioned earlier, was the partial view of the Eiffel Tower from our room. While it wasn't a complete view, it was still enchanting, especially during the evening when the tower was beautifully illuminated. This added a touch of romance to our stay that we will always cherish.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris. Its prime location, warm and welcoming staff, and the unique view of the Eiffel Tower make it a memorable choice. Keep in mind that the rooms are not overly spacious, but they are comfortable, and the overall experience is nothing short of amazing. I'm certain that I'll be returning to this delightful hotel on my next visit to the...
Read moreWe visited Paris for the first time this weekend and we decided to stay in Le Relais Saint Charles and we are not regretting our decision.
The receptionists are absolutely friendly and the check-in was uncomplicated.
Our room was super clean, we had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable and even though the hotel is located in the heart of Paris and directly on a busy street, you can sleep perfectly and the noises are not disturbing or extremely loud when you are in the room.
Our room was placed on the first floor, so we did not have a view of the Eiffel Tower but honestly, we did not have to since the tower is only 10 minutes away by foot.
I absolutely recommend booking the breakfast in your room for only 10 euros. We did not book the breakfast in advance and decided spontaneously to order it in our room. I chose a french baguette with different sorts of cheese, fresh fruits and coffee, it was delicious.
At the reception, I was told that I can leave my luggage there after the checkout and pick it up later. There are no parking slots so if you are coming with your car you can book a parking space called Bonvin Lecourbe, the adress is Rue François Bonvin, 28 and the parking space is only 1 km away from the hotel. We paid for parking 30 Euros for 24h.
We arrived at 18:00 O'clock in Paris on Saturday and departed at 17 O'clock on Sunday. in these couple of hours, we managed to visit the Eiffel tower, of course. Spend a couple of hours in Louvre, we walked through Champs Elysee, a luxurious shopping street, and we saw Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame.
Don't forget to take the carousel ride to the Eiffel tower for only 3 euros. It's not only for kids, I promise.
At 00:00 the tower starts to sparkle, so make sure to experience all the people clapping and cheering the glittering symbol of love.
P.S. use the metro, 1,90 EUR and you'll get basically everywhere, managing your way through the metro system of Paris is easier than you think.
I have always something to criticise, but this time, I have no negative points to mention regarding the hotel. It was truly a super comfortable...
