we originally had wanted to cancel our booking upon arrival as Agoda said we must speak to the hotel about it, but then the hotel manager said we must speak to Agoda, lol.
upon ARRIVAL, we doorbelled twice and was let in. but upon going up there was no one so we waited and knocked by the room in the lobby and finally someone entertained us. we arrived in the morning and check in was not until 3pm, so we left our bags, stubs were given, and started our itinerary
reviews on the SPIRAL STAIRCASE are accurate, not only is it obviously a challenge to bring up and down luggage, but the steps itself are really small, not even wide enough for size 8 feet like mine. though we expected it, as it was already CLEARLY STATED on both photos and info.
the ROOM is very adequate, we're SIMPLE PEOPLE and it's all we need. the bed is comfy, the shower is clean with running hot water. pump bottles of "conditioning shampoo + body wash" is included in the shower and by the sink. i see there were reviews of water spilling everywhere when you shower, you just have to make sure the shower curtain is doing its job by placing it around right lol. we were ROOMED AT THE 2ND FLOOR and facing front of the hotel,, there was a door you enter first to enter your room/ other rooms. no other amenities besides airconditioning (no remote) and a standing fan.
we were NEIGHBOURED with an Indian couple/ family and they were really loud. even music/ social media scrolling from their phone COULD BE EASILY HEARD. luckily we were exhausted daily that we were knocked right out after getting back lol.
we bumped into the other staff (the thin african guy who people kept mentioning in the reviews as rude) he offered to help bring down our luggage and was very kind.
CHECKOUT was easy as you just drop off your room key card at this clear locked box at the first floor.

I usually don’t review anything unless it’s a positive review, with a suggestion so that others can experience what I have….BUT, I feel it is extremely necessary to let others know how HORRIBLE this hotel is! I don’t even know where to begin, customer service was absolutely terrible, the lady that registered us was completely rude and uncaring! At first glance of the office I should’ve left by the filth. Once registered we were on our way to the 4th floor up an extremely narrow spiral staircase that definitely wouldn’t meet code anywhere in the first world. Once we got to our room (unlocked before we even got there) we walked into a smoke smelling room, that basically had a hard mattress on the floor with the sheets covered with pubic hair we knew immediately that it hadn’t been cleaned, it was obviously just straightened up for us! They have individual heaters in each room that didn’t work well. We at this time basically just dropped out luggage off and spent as much time as possible away from the location. The hot water barely worked and when it did it would keep cutting out so I had a wonderful cold shower in mid December (like who doesn’t love that—-sarcasm).

EXPEDIA-you shouldn’t be associated with this hotel as it’s an embarrassment to you! The lady at registration told us because we booked through you they couldn’t refund us, we felt that was just what they say to everyone that complains so that they can keep the money! WE DEFINITELY DESERVE A REFUND FOR THIS STAY! I just hope I don’t have to declare bed bugs when entering my home country!

Read moreOur experience at Dupleix Hotel Paris was very disappointing. We had already paid for the room, but when we arrived early in the morning due to unexpected travel delays, we were not allowed to enter or check in. Before our trip, I had asked the hotel if it was possible to adjust the check-in date since our train was delayed, but the answer was simply “no.”
Because of that, we took a bus instead and arrived at around 5:30 AM in very cold weather. When we reached the hotel, the entrance was locked and required a code. We rang the bell repeatedly, but there was no response at all. After about an hour, someone finally spoke through the intercom, but the communication was very rude and unhelpful. We were refused access to the building, and no alternative solution was offered.
It became clear that the hotel has no receptionist available during early hours and does not operate properly until around 9:00 AM. There is also no elevator, which might be inconvenient for some guests.
In the end, we checked into another hotel right next door. It was much better, the staff were welcoming, and they even allowed us to check in early without any issue.
