Carrousel du Louvre — Local services in Paris

I entered the Louvre through the Carrousel du Louvre, which I think is technically an exit, but it’s honestly one of the best ways to get in. It’s covered, and although the line is still long, it’s not as bad as the main pyramid entrance.

First, you go through a security check. I had a 9:30 AM ticket for a Thursday and arrived around 9:05 AM, but they grouped people with 9:00–9:30 AM times together, so anyone in that slot could join the same line. We waited in line for around 20 mins. I'm not sure where you'd lineup If you didn't purchase a ticket in advance but just ask the staff. As of June 2025, there’s only one bag screening for everyone, so it moves a bit slowly. There are two lines: special entrance (which is small and quick), and one for everyone else.

This entrance isn’t the actual entrance to the museum itself. After security, you walk through an area with shops, which can be a bit confusing since signs aren’t super clear. The museum entrance is straight ahead. Look for a smaller escalator/stairs, not the big ones. After that, you scan your ticket and enter (one line for groups and one for everyone else).

Most people head straight to the Mona Lisa, but I took my time exploring other parts of the museum first. I went through the Galerie d’Apollon and then entered the Mona Lisa room through the back entrance. There's a door at the end of the Galerie d'Apollon hall with signs pointing toward the painting and other artworks. By the time I got there (around 12 noon), there was no line. The room was still busy, but you can get a good photo from farther back without needing to push through the crowd.

I saw about 95% of the museum but I skimmed some parts and took more time in the areas I was most interested in. I’d like to return another day to take it all in more slowly, but even one visit was worth it. If you're a big museum person, you could definitely spend longer.

A few tips: (1) skip the food inside because it's not great and overpriced (2) bring a water bottle, especially on warmer days. You're going to get thirsty! (3) try to eat before going in so you’re not hungry halfway through.

Low security, your data can be stolen any time. Please do not invest in this app if you do not want to lose money in anger. 🏄🏼‍♀️Senior managers treated staff in a cruel and unforgettable way, they look down on people from low-income countries. They tried to remove 1-star reviews on Trustpilot to make their profile look good but as a former employee who joined them internally, a lot of bad things have occurred to new employees and users from low-income background. The place is beautiful but this cannot be said for their information staff. I have never met someone as rude and disinterested in helping a customer. We had only a simple query and were given the wrong information. But even before this, we stood in front of the information desk was acknowledged by the man sitting behind it and as we started to speak he turned his attention back onto some woman sitting beside him with her head on the desk, clearly not a colleague and finished his conversation with her before asking if we needed any help. Most disrespectful behaviour, then after giving us little information he then proceeded to speak with the woman, dismissing us before we had the chance to question further. He had no interest in being helpful as he sits behind an information desk. Absolutely disgusting behaviour for someone working at the information desk of a centre that prides itself in 'listen(ing) to your needs' and apparently being 'trained' to provide help to tourists which they so proudly advertise on their website. I can not imagine any manager being proud of such an employee especially from such a distinguished...
