We stayed one night at the ibis Styles Strasbourg Centre République and were very pleasantly surprised by how extremely clean and fresh the hotel felt. It looks newly renovated, and the colourful, fun decor adds a cheerful touch throughout.
We booked a smart room, which also happened to be an accessible room for guests with disabilities. On the positive side, the spacious bathroom and walk-in shower were very comfortable and practical. However, one small downside was the red flashing light from the emergency intercom system, which isn’t noticeable during the day but did disturb us during the night. This is something to bear in mind if you are a light sleeper.
The staff were overall very friendly and helpful. A special thank you to Rania and Lidia, who were especially welcoming and attentive. Unfortunately, our interaction with the male receptionist was less pleasant. He came across as rather abrupt. This may have been due to a language barrier, but it did leave us feeling slightly uncomfortable.
Breakfast was perfectly adequate for the price. A nice selection of fresh fruit, pastries, cold meats, cheeses and more, with something to suit most tastes.
The hotel is in a quiet location with secure parking, and it is only a short walk to the town centre. It’s also dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us. There is a lovely park just five minutes away, perfect for morning or...
Read moreWe liked our stay at this new hotel. Everything looked clean and the rooms were tidy. I especially would like to thank the really friendly staff at the reception. They are open, friendly and try to help you, whereever they can. They even helped my friend with her baby, when she needed to have food for him to be warmed up and accompanied her to her room. You even get little goodies, like croissants all day long at the reception, one free cold tea and on one evening they even made fresh Popcorn. The variety at the breakfast buffet is big, tasty and fresh. I am a tea lover and I really appreciate you had loose tea, which you could fill into tiny bags. It depends on when you go, but it can happen, that the hall, where the hotel serves the breakfast, is quite crowded and you have to wait a little bit to get a table. You can look at "the art" in this time. It looks warm and welcoming. You can not open the windows properly inside your room, they can just be tilt. That's the only thing, I found a bit annoying, but nothing bad and I would always come back to this place. I am also not fond of carpets, but as this place is new, everything was fine. The area is also nice and more calm than right in the middle of the center, what I prefer. But it is not far to go...
Read moreWe stayed at the iBIS Budget next door and only had contact with the Ibis Stryle staff for parking.
When returning our Parking Card, before leaving, we asked to use the restroom (a family of four) and were told that this wasn't possible; we were told to go to the Ibis Budget where we had stayed. "You know where that is, right?"
We were shocked by the lack of courtesy regarding the use of a restroom despite paying €25 for parking.
I recommend the Ibis Budget in the same location and at the same price, but 5 stars for friendliness, courtesy, and...
