Block House Berlin remains a solid choice if you’re looking for quality cuts of beef. On this visit, the service stood out – something that hasn’t always been their strongest point. This time, however, Herman was excellent: fast, friendly, professional, and highly efficient. A real highlight of the evening.
The Prime Beef section of the menu is where Block House truly shines. Here’s a breakdown of the key cuts and portions: • Filet Mignon (160 g, €29): The smallest option. Very tender and soft, but may feel a bit too light if you’re truly hungry. • American Tenderloin (220 g, €38): A thicker, more generous filet. Great if you prefer extremely tender cuts with more substance. • Mr. Rumpsteak (230 g, €28): A juicier, more flavorful cut with a firmer bite. Excellent balance of size, taste, and price. There’s also the Mrs. Rumpsteak (180 g, €23) – a lighter option that might not be enough for bigger appetites. • Hereford Rib-Eye (250 g, €28.50): Nicely marbled, juicy and full of flavor. A safe and satisfying classic. • Rib-Eye Mastercut (330 g, €32): A bigger, bolder rib-eye – grilled on lava stone for great texture. Ideal for serious meat lovers. • T-Bone Steak (500 g, €43): The largest cut on the menu. A juicy combination of tenderloin and roast beef on the bone. Great for sharing (available for two for an extra €11), or for someone really hungry.
All steaks come with a fresh salad, house bread, and a perfectly baked potato with sour cream – a signature combo that never disappoints. For drinks, a cold beer or a glass of red wine is the perfect match for their dry-aged, grass-fed beef.
Is it cheap? Not at all – but let’s be honest: beef in Germany is expensive everywhere. That’s why pork, chicken, and fish are much more common in everyday meals. But when you’re ready to treat yourself to some quality meat, Block...
Read moreI give them an overall rating of 3. as much as the steak, the potato and the side salad are amazing, their service was greatly lacking. On arriving was treated well and shown where to sit . A nice lady who spoke English as well as German brought the menu and I proceeded to make my order. A few minutes later my side salad and drink were on my table. Everything until this point was amazing and I was really enjoying my salad, until about 3 mins after my salad was brought another guy( maybe a waiter or the chef) brought my steak. Like are you serious dude or are you tripping? Anybody who likes steak know that the best way to experience is it when it’s sizzling, when it’s hot coz once it cools off that thing dries up. I had had only a few bites into my salad and had to give it up so I can eat my steak before it cools and dries off. I found this very inconvenient. It’s important to note that I was here at around 1800hrs on a weekday and therefore it wasn’t so busy. So my question is, why the hurry? Why offer the salad if you don’t intend to let me eat it in peace and without rush.?? I observed other customers who ordered the same meal but they had time to eat their salads and table cleared before their steaks were brought. As a black woman who has lived the experience of being treated differently in places like these because the people working there didn’t feel like I deserved to be there, I am inclined to think the same was happening here. If this was not the case, I would like to know why I wa treated that way while spending my hard earned money. I honestly don’t know if I would recommend this specific Blockhaus in good conscience. That being said, I loved the steak and the baked potato. I wish I had had the time to...
Read moreA place where a lot of people were eating, and a sign with "Best steaks since 19xx", so the expectations were high, at least for the steak, especially as a steak enjoyer myself. I ordered a Rib Eye Mastercut medium rare, a very nice piece of meat, but i was served a well done rib eye, which in my opinion is quite sad for such a fine cut. Me and my girlfriends waiter Daniel didn't come and ask if everything was fine (understandable since the restaurant was quite full), but a nice waiter stopped since he could see i wasn't eating much more of my steak. He quickly agreed with me and offered me a new steak and a Bruschetta while i waited - free desert or a bit off the price would have been fine, especially considering the price of the cut. Not soon after Daniel was at my table with the steak and asked me to come inside so I could see the beef in the light, he pointed out the steak was medium rare because u could see a glimpse og red in the middle. Maybe it wasn't well done, but it was closer to that than medium rare. Daniel told me to eat my beef and that i should be satisfied with the way it was cooked, I'm not much of an arguing guy and rarely complains. Shy of conflicts as I am it went Daniels way, and i paid the full price.
Their dessert menu was looking good, but i had to tell my girlfriend that we wouldn't be spending one penny more at this restaurant.
I think overall a great restaurant with great cuts of meat and other dishes for those who want something lighter. Also very fine staff, with fine English speaking skills, which is rare for Germany, but this service by Daniel was...
