The location of this hotel is awesome. Virtually all tourist attractions are at a stones throw distance. The place is abuzz with cafes and restaurants and shopping. The rooms are clean and designed with modern sensibilities, though on the smaller size. We had booked a xxl room for three adults, which was adequate but just about so. |I think the strongest suit here is the breakfast, which was awesome. You can order from their cafe menu and the quality of everything on offer is exceptional. The croissants and monkey bread are to die for. No wonder there is always a queue outside the bakery. The service at breakfast is relaxed and they don’t allow anyone other than hotel guests in the cafe at breakfast time. |We had one meal at ERGON house, which is right across the street and the quality of food there was amongst the best we had in Athens. |The staff are also very nice and polite. We were given a room at about 1.30, much before the check in time. Their restaurant recommendations were also on point and the guide they organised for our Acropolis tour was wonderful. |However, there was one unpleasant experience which spoiled our overall experience. One evening i went to restaurant on the terrace to get some food as we did not want to go out to eat. the servers were polite and on their own offered to get the food to my room. However, a lady, who appeared to be above in hierarchy to the servers suddenly appeared and very rudely told me that I would have to take the food myself to the room and the servers won’t do it. I had no choice but to do that but such insolent behaviour is not what you would expect in a hotel. To be fair, it is the hotel’s policy that room service menu is different from the restaurant but here the servers had themselves offered to take the food and in any case, talking rudely to guests can never be condoned. The same lady we had seen in the breakfast place acting in the same bossy manner but luckily we were served by others so our breakfast experience...

I recently visited Ergon Bakery, and I have to say, it was a truly delightful experience. The bread was incredibly fresh and flavorful, with that perfect balance of crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. Every bite tasted like it was made with care and high-quality ingredients. If you appreciate artisanal baking, this place will not disappoint.
One of the first things that caught my eye was the beautiful and inviting display. Everything is arranged in such an aesthetically pleasing way, from the fresh loaves to the baked goods and specialty items. You can tell the staff takes pride in both the product and the presentation.
They also sell a great variety of premium baking ingredients, including 72-hour fermented sourdough flour and other gourmet baking essentials. It’s not just a bakery but a place where foodies and home bakers can find inspiration.
What really stood out to me was the exceptional service, especially from one of the staff members who works near the front desk area (not the main window). I unfortunately didn’t catch her name, but she was a dark-skinned lady with a radiant personality and such a welcoming attitude. She went above and beyond to make the experience feel personal and warm. Her friendly approach truly elevated my visit.
The prices are very fair considering the quality you’re getting. For handmade, high-quality baked goods and specialty ingredients, I found everything reasonably priced.
Final Thoughts:
Ergon Bakery is more than just a place to grab bread. It’s a warm, welcoming spot filled with good energy, friendly people, and delicious, high-quality products. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re a fan of real, flavorful bread and top-notch customer service. I’ll...
Read moreI would give this charming boutique hotel 10 stars if I could. The location, between Syntagma and Monastiraki squares is within walking distance of practically everything you want to see.....The Acropolis, Hadrian's Library, Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, Plaka, Parliament & Changing of the Guard, Benaki Museum, Kolonaki, National Garden of Athens, Hadrian's Arch & Temple of Olympian Zeus. My Large room was stylish & modern and very spacious, with French doors leading to a small balcony. I've read other reviews complaining about noise, but this was not a problem for us. The hotel provides ear plugs which we never needed. We live in a city and are used to normal city noise. The staff couldn't have been more helpful in answering questions and helping with ordering taxis, recommending restaurants, and reserving a space at the lovely rooftop bar at Ergon House around the corner, with a view of the Acropolis. The breakfasts were dreamy. It was hard not to get the thick, creamy Greek yogurt with granola, blue berries and honey, everyday. The Croque Madam on Ergon Bakehouses' own toasted sourdough with creamy, melted cheese, and a perfectly, cooked, runny egg was heaven. The Ergon Bakehouse takeout window, just outside the hotel, has delectable morning pastries, scrumptious bread and mouthwatering sandwiches.....and always has a line. I bought gifts for friends at the hotel as well as the deli/cafe around the corner at the Ergon House. I'm already planning my next trip to Athens and will absolutely plan to stay at Ergon...
