Edit : the most interesting interaction ive ever had. I stayed again after the first complaint thinking for certain they made changes as they are "bio". But no. And now apparently I did it for some kind of vendeta to the hotel? It's not that complicated. I like the hotel, I dislike the fragrance which is not "bio". I thought they would address it but obviously I was wrong. Original review : There are some fragrances that are so strong I can smell them on myself when I leave the hotel. I even asked friends and they could smell it in my hair even though I only spent a short time in the room and showered before going out. Having the doors open while I slept and air conditioning off helped marginally but it was still uncomfortable but I managed. Approximately 1/3 of the world population are sensitive to synthetic fragrances. For your information. Here is something from a quick Google search - there is growing evidence that phthalates, aldehydes, and 1,4- dichlorobenzene (a common deodorizer) can cause cancer. So, yes, air freshener components (either directly emitted from the air freshener or indirectly formed by subsequent indoor chemical reactions) have been linked to numerous adverse health outcomes.
When I shared this and specific information about the possibility of them being sued Melisa said that I'm threatening them. Imagine you get your drivers licence and are told to obey road rules or you will get a fine then telling the instructor not to threaten you. Imagine. Even if I was, so what? It's irrelevant, but I wasn't. Another thing is that I specifically pointed out I "thought" one of her beliefs was "ignorant". She then manipulated what I said so she could be a victim saying I said she as an individual is ignorant. I should share screenshots of the conversation but that's petty in my opinion.
The worst part? Not once did anyone apologise for the misinformation I was given the first stay. Nothing. Imagine thinking you're good and professional but not being able to at least say sorry. She apologised today, after I pointed this out.
As for the hotel and room itself. I like the hotel as it has good beds, linen and amenities. It's is noisy as there are bars and has no soundproofing. It's central and close to many decent restaurants. The staff, the woman, as written above is manipulative and as I've just read through all their reviews it has happened on a few occasions so you better not get on her bad side. Read moreI arrived at 9am and had already messaged the property twice in advance about my arrival time. When I got there, I couldn’t get in and had to stand outside trying to make contact. The intercom was faulty, and when I finally managed to be heard, it must have sounded louder than intended.
Instead of any understanding, Stefano phoned me and immediately accused me of “shouting” at Melissa, who herself had explained it was just the intercom issue. His tone was unnecessarily rude. When I asked how long it would take for someone to let us in—just so I’d know whether to wait or go for breakfast—he flatly refused to answer and snapped that it was “only 9am” and I should just wait.

This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a hotel or rental. We booked this place in advance, expecting a smooth check-in. Instead, we were left stranded,they never sent us the code to access our room as they listed as a part of their process! We tried messaging multiple times, and no one responded for HOURS. No updates, no apologies, just complete silence.
When we finally did get in touch, the hostess was extremely rude, especially to my wife. Completely unprofessional, dismissive, and made us feel like we were the problem for expecting basic communication.
Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. The lack of communication, the disrespect, and the total disregard for guests’ time and comfort is unacceptable. I rarely write reviews, but this was just too awful to stay...
