An absolute gem of a find! The owner is so caring, warm, and thoughtful! We lost a day in Athens because our connecting flight left early AND our bags didn’t make it. The owner told us not to worry about the bags and she even spoke with the airline to get them to the hotel and delivered to our rooms so we could enjoy our day. She even insisted on calling a taxi for us the next day so we could be taken care of and not worry about it. On arrival, they welcomed us with free ice cream, coffee, whatever we needed. The owner hugged us and treated us like we were her own family. It was very much needed kindness after the disaster it took to get here. The room is lovely. We stayed in the Hermes apartment. For a European room (which are usually small compared to American), this was quite spacious! Kitchenette, wine, water, coffee all in the room! And a bar table to sit at, little couch and hanging chair. Plenty of hot water and a comfortable bed to come home to. And the balcony! If you peer around the corner, you can see the Acropolis! It was a beautiful surprise to see it at night lit up! If you open the balcony doors, you can hear some light music from the center, but if you close them, it’s peaceful and quiet for a good rest. Finally, location! We had initially wanted to stay at the Hyatt. I’m soooo glad we went here instead! This place is CENTRAL TO EVERYTHING! Not even a 15 min walk to the Acropolis and all our tours were nearby. Not to mention, when we walked anywhere, we walked past all sorts of fun shops (unlike at the Hyatt where I read you walk by some sketch adult stores). One thing to point out - it can be a little confusing to find the place. Just look for the Yum…Me! ice cream store and they’ll get you settled in! Not to mention the staff offers you whatever you want on the house! They were so nice. I’m sad we lost time in Athens but am definitely going to come back and stay here (maybe even upgrading to the bigger room!!). Seriously, customer service isn’t like this anymore. You’re not even a customer here - you are family. I felt like a VIP. Our honeymoon start was disastrous and the owner with her caring team made up for it. Thank you!!!!

I just want to start by saying that Mythos was the absolute PERFECT choice. We stayed here for about a week and had absolutely no issues. Soula was the most wonderful host we could have asked for, not only being on top of hotel responsibilities, but whenever we would be leaving or entering she would check in to see how we were doing. She gave us tips on remaining safe and wished us well so frequently! She is an absolute delight. Also, her other staff were super kind and helpful if she wasn't around. The room itself was gorgeous. The bed was super comfortable, we watched the sunset from our balcony, and we had a mini kitchen (with supplies!) to store some snacks and waters. It was clean and kept neat, and because we stayed for a longer trip they cleaned every few days as well. The hotel is on a fairly busy street with shops, but I felt that the noise levels from outside were very muted, even on the weekend where there was a lot more commotion in the late hours. With that, Mythos is located in the heart of Athens and you will have things to do immediately walking out of the hotel, whether it is shopping, food, or attractions. Historical sites are within a 15-20 minute walk maximum, the flea market is around the corner, and there is an ice cream shop connected to the hotel that the owner runs. There is food everywhere and plenty to choose from. The only warning I give is that if you have louder neighbors you'll probably hear them in the hallways or if they have their door open! Also, the shower is pretty small but was totally manageable and not an issue, just something to consider. I could not have been happier with our choice to stay here and whenever it is we return to Athens, we will 100% be staying here again!

There are two things particularly outstanding about this place - the first is the location, which is extremely convenient and in walking distance to plenty of major attractions, and very close to the Monastiraki metro station. The second is the manager, who is the most outrageously friendly person I have ever met who has ever hosted us to any stay. She offered us all the warmth and kindness that we could have asked for. The room is frankly worn. The shower in particular was inconsistent, especially in the temperature of the water. It's the type where you have to turn the taps for hot and cold and even if you leave it as is, the temperature could suddenly drop then come back up again, like it struggles to keep a consistent temperature/flow even if no one else is using water in the same room. Then there is the toilet, which is a typical Greek one - that is, basic and does not allow toilet paper to be flushed inside. Coming from our Japanese bidet and flush-anything toilets, this is a big culture shock that is uncomfortable to adapt to immediately. All said, the room is comfortable and for the price, one cannot complain. Considering the price and the support from the manager, as well as the location, I still have to give this accommodation 5 stars.
