Plaka House - Boutique Apartments — Hotel in Athens

It’s difficult to imagine better accommodation in Athens. It was a last-minute find and we were so pleased that we didn’t end up at the alternatives we explored, which included much recommended and significantly more expensive 4* and 5* hotels. This accommodation really made our stay. We rented Apartment 5. The description on the website is slightly inaccurate and doesn’t quite do it justice: it’s a spacious 2 bedroomed apartment on two floors. Living room, balconies, bedroom 1 and bathroom on the top floor, kitchen, bedroom 2 and bathroom on the lower floor. The facilities are top tier, the design lovely, beds comfy, towels and robes in plentiful supply and plenty of opportunities for photos of you and yours with a glass of wine in the hot tub as the sun sets beside the Acropolis in the background. The location is unbeatable. It is quiet and attractive with plenty of options for eating in the square a minute’s walk away and countless options within 10 minutes’ walk. Athen’s main attractions are all within 20 minute’s walk. (In fact, my wife regretted that we didn’t set foot on the Subway system at all – it is supposedly particularly attractive.) Ioannis is a perfect host. I get the impression he is justifiably proud of his property and genuinely wants guests to enjoy their stay as much as possible. He is as knowledgeable and attentive as the best hotel concierge, with an added human factor that goes above and beyond the merely professional. Whilst we didn’t meet, he was incredibly helpful on every front, including organising transport to and from the airport (at a very reasonable price) and has a list of recommendations that are worth exploring. I would highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Athens. I have stayed in multiple places in the Plaka and this is by far the best. The Plaka is my favorite area to stay in, but unless I have stayed in a hotel, it has been too noisy. Not this place! It was very quiet and peaceful. The place is completely renovated, and everything is updated and beautiful. It was very hot outside, but the AC worked wonderfully. It is hard to find a good apartment with great AC in the heart of Athens (in my experience). The host is a 10/10 as well. I had issues with my phone and it deleted all the information that was sent to me prior to my stay. When I contacted to host to ask him to resend everything day of my arrival, he did so promptly. He checked in via text to make sure everything was good with my stay. He also gave me a hard copy key since my phone issues persisted. I ended up coming back to Athens shortly after my stay at the Plaka House, but it was fully booked. I stayed nearby, but next time I will plan better so I can stay at the Plaka House anytime I am in Athens. I have not yet found a place...

*Super recommend! *

First thing to mention is that the apartment is in PRIME location! In the most beautiful neighborhood of Athens, and 10 minutes (of a beautiful and super pleasant) walk from the shopping center. I am not too familiar with Athens but I guess 90% of the most recommended restaurants and cafes are in the radius of 10 minutes walk.

The apartments are absolutely new. We rented two apartments and they were both amazing, clean obviously but also well designed and just comfortable and nice to be in.

Finally, worth mentioning that the host was amazing. We communicated via Whatsapp, he made sure we know how to arrive and even suggested a parking location. When we needed some help he was quick to arrive, and was very kind and happy to help. He always made sure we have everything we need and made us feel very welcome which is always important.
