We have just spent 8 nights at Onar Hydra and cannot fault it. The apartments are set a little way back from the harbour up quite a number of steep steps, but have the most spectacular views because of this. We stayed in the top apartment that has a huge private balcony with 2 sunloungers a table & 2 chairs. We could see straight down to the harbour and loved watching the boats sail in. The apartment is lovely and light with 2 big windows in the bedroom as well as the patio doors leading out to the balcony. It has easy to control air conditioning and a comfy bed. There is a large wardrobe and a fridge with a top freezer compartment. There is also a coffee machine with coffee pods provided, a hairdryer and a small ironing board. The bathroom is large and has a lovely big shower. Great correspondence from Beatrice during the booking process and throughout our stay, she couldn't do enough for us and our housekeeper Chryssa came in everyday changing bedding and providing clean towels when requested. We have no hesitation in recommending these apartments and we will definitely return. ...
Read moreI had an absolutely beautiful experience here with Onar at Hydra. I was a bit confused getting in, as the front desk was empty but that probably wouldn't have been a problem if I'd better let them know when I'd be coming in. Luckily, I met the daughter of one of the owners/managers and she helped me out. My stay with Onar was absolutely delightful, the room was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful, and the outdoor terrace was STUNNING. I spent my night out there sipping wine and admiring the lights of the harbour and the stars. Maria was an excellent host and wonderful human being, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying with Onar. Once you find the location of the hotel initially, you discover how incredibly convenient the location is, easily accessible to both the main harbour and to a pathway going around the side of the island to some gorgeous beaches. Stay here, you won't regret it. Beautiful hotel, staffed and owned by...
Read moreFound this hotel on a hotel website while planning last minute 2 day getaway from Athens. Very good communication with hotel. Paid nonrefundable prepay at time of booking which helped with price. This accommodation is in a beautiful building up 2-3 flights of stairs overlooking Hydra port. It is not "luxury" as I can see many Hydra hotels clearly are. The hotel is cute, very clean and has very friendly and accommodating staff (family?) who run it. They allowed us to stay in our room for extra time on our last day as our ferry was leaving in the late afternoon. The beds are firm and comfortable. Good hot water. It is quiet with nice views. As said, very clean and tidy. There is not a safe in the room. Refrigerator in room. Very good AC. We loved our stay in Hydra and this hotel was charming and felt "just right"....
