Papagalos — Restaurant in Municipality of Hydra

During my trip to Hydra, I stopped by Papagalos for breakfast, and it ended up being one of my favorite meals of the whole trip. The restaurant has such a relaxed and welcoming vibe—it’s the kind of place where you can sit back, enjoy the view, and take your time without feeling rushed. I ordered a traditional Greek breakfast, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. The bread was warm, the eggs perfectly cooked, and the local cheeses were rich and flavorful. The highlight for me was the yogurt with honey and fruit—it was simple but absolutely delicious, the kind of dish that reminds you why Greek food is so special. Paired with a strong coffee, it was exactly what I needed to start the day. The staff was friendly and attentive, always checking in but never overbearing. They made me feel right at home, which added to the whole experience. Sitting outside, enjoying the beautiful Hydra atmosphere with a great breakfast, felt like the perfect way to soak in the island’s charm. Poor owner of the place. Fire the waiter, please, he is awful and Nazi (read other reviews about his behaviour). You have such a nice location and everything to be the best place at harbour, but the waiter is ruining your reputation!! First, no one even met me and suggested table or menu. Absolutely self-service. Second, poor bartender was trying his best to do the whole job instead of the the waiter who showed up 20!! Minutes later when everyone was a little bit disappointed and the order was made, but he decided to show how meaningful he is and started fighting instead of saying sorry for the late come and after asked me to leave in a very rude way. He forgot that he is staff I guess.. and I’m not even talking about Hospitality!! Maybe it’s time to say goodbye to...

The pizza was great but everything else was Zero service and impolite .i asked for a salad with kiwi and strawberry first no kiwi at all and the 3 pieces of strawberries were all rotten and mold. When i told the waitress she said its not my fault without any excuse or offer to change it and bring fresh strawberries and kiwis.even the price was not adjusted consequently when we asked for the bill and they saw that i didnt touch imy plate at all.Moreover the first waitress was so impolite like looking at us with a mocking smile then she cursed while passing by and she went talking to the other waiter pointing at us and laughing.she was so rude and impolite.
