Local Restaurant & Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

Did not dine there, but one of staff members got to my personal space, literally in my face to try and provoke a physical altercation. Very bad experience. I Was staying in a hotel in the same building, and after going in and out of hotel multiple times during the day I had politely refused to go and dine there. So after like fifth attempt to get me to eat there I told the staff member, that I am staying right there (pointing finger to the entrance of the hotel 3 meters away) and that I am not interested. This was nearly before the sunset ( went to my room to switch from sunglasses to regular ones), headed out about 5-10 minutes later to see the sunset and he got in my face, literally 2cm from me in an attempt to intimidate and provoke me, stating that I had been disrespectful earlier to which I replied that I don't agree and told him to not be so close to me. Keep in mind that I am probably 15cm taller and like 30kg heavier, so he would have not been a match.

All in all I notified my hotel admin desk that this had happened and they promised to speak with the jays burger house owner some Dmitris or something, but nothing was really done about it.

The person harassing me was probably around 170 cm tall, short haircut with longer pointy hair in the front ( gelled up bang? ), Had grin on his face with noticeable gap between the front teeth, wearing white sneakers.

In case the management reads this, the person was working on the corner closest to the diana hotel.

0/10 would not recommend, this definitely...

Food poisoning

I can’t tell you how disappointed I am with Jay’s Burger House. I spent a week in Rhodes and was having a wonderful time. I visited Jay’s several times because the food was good and the staff were very friendly. The kleftiko was delicious.

Unfortunately this didn’t last. On Saturday, 26 of august around 18:00 I went in to celebrate my birthday with a better dinner. I asked about the lamb chops and was assured they were delicious. I told the waiter I’m celebrating my birthday and would like some choice lamb chops.

After a while, they arrived and I was disappointed. They were dry and barely warm, not at all the juicy lamb chops I was hoping to get.

But that’s not why I’m writing. The kicker is that I got food poisoning from those lamb chops. It occurs to me now that they were most likely left on a shelf from the night before and were just reheated before I got them.

I had a horrible night and had to get on a plane home the next day. What a way to spend your birthday!! I’m still struggling with this three days later.

The chef needs a serious reprimand! If he doesn’t have enough knowledge about how to handle meat then he should work at a hot dog stand!! Trying to save a few drachma by using meat that is contaminated is criminal!

I am posting this for two weeks and then taking it down. The only reason I will take it down is that the staff were so friendly that they made me feel like family. If you lose money because of this post, you can take it out of the chef’s wages!!
