Mylos hotel. |What a view! The room with two twin beds as requested was small. Only one of us could walk across the foot of the bed at a time. There is a mini refrigerator and a safe. There are several outlets which was helpful. The hanging bar in the room was a bit high to use. However, I am somewhat petite. |The shower was a good size and the rain shower head had good water pressure. The trash bin in the bathroom was nice tight fitting so no odors from all the toilet paper in it. Just a side note, you are not allowed to flush toilet paper anywhere on the island. |The gentleman at the front desk was wonderful. Very kind and explained the bus system, provided a print out time table of the different lines and provided directions on how to get to the bus station in Fira (about a 15 minute walk). One day when we had to leave before breakfast times, he provided yogurt, tea, a kettle for hot water and cake for us the night before. ||Breakfast is limited due to no full kitchen. |If you stay an extra period of time and tire of the same thing, you can bring some alternative spreads for the bread. I saw someone else with some hummus. But the view while eating breakfast is unbeatable! |You can also watch the sunset from the comfort of your balcony and no crowds. Because the path is in front of the hotel, there are not a lot of people walking by. The only people that walk by are those that stay in other hotels below. |There is a shop right in front of the hotel where you can buy bottled water and snacks. There are several reasonable food take out places a minute walk away. There are also several sit down restaurants within 1-2 minutes walk. I can recommend Vanilla Sky. Hotel Mylos is near the action, but is peaceful. |All in all a lovely stay on the caldera during high season that didn’t break the bank. The hotel was recommended on one of the Trip Advisor forum. It is possible to have a caldera view and not destroy your budget. I’m so glad we...
Read moreI'll start with the positives...
The Views: The views are stunning. Walking out your front door you get to see Santorini and the opposing volcano rocks. The best part of the hotel.
Value: The hotel is very reasonably priced. The room is very standard with no thrills but does the job.
The bad...
Breakfast: The hotel would be better off not serving breakfast. It's a continental breakfast which offers no fruit, toast or pastries. It is just bread and cereal. And the coffee is terrible.
Watergate: The hotel starts by warning you not to drink the tap water... Fair enough. At breakfast I saw that there was bottled water in their storage, which I requested. The lady said water is not part of the breakfast and that I would need to go the mini market. I found this a bit weird but what can I do?
The next day I knew I didn't want the breakfast again so I requested from the hotel just to have water and coffee. The hotel said thats fine they won't serve us breakfast but they can't give us water, only the coffee.
The hotel acted as if I was asking for a double whiskey on the rocks when I asked for water.
The hotel is pleasent but if they actually listened to their customers requests it would...
Read moreThis hotel came highly recommended, and we’re glad we chose to stay here. The location is excellent—just a 2-minute walk to the main Firostefani square. Since it’s at street level, you avoid the hassle of climbing multiple flight of stairs, unlike many other Caldera-facing hotels across the island. ||There are several fantastic restaurants nearby, including our favorite, Aktion, all within a 2-3 minute walk. ||We stayed in the superior deluxe room, which featured a spacious, private balcony overlooking the Caldera—and that was the highlight of our stay. While the room itself was simple, the breathtaking views from the balcony made it unforgettable. ||Breakfast was a basic continental spread—nothing fancy, but it suited me fine since I don’t usually eat a big breakfast. ||The staff were courteous and friendly, and we had no complaints. I would strongly...
