I was apprehensive to go here because it seemed silly to eat sushi in Greece. The rating was also strangely kind of low, but Ginger came highly recommended by friends we trust, so we gave it a try and oh my god I’m so glad we did! This was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The Hamatchi and the Rocks and Truffle rolls blew my mind, and even the California roll was the best I’ve ever had. The price was pretty high, but the servings were incredibly generous. The service was also amazing - the servers were kind and knowledgeable and the food arrived with perfect timing. We thought about skipping dessert, but our server sent a comped a Zan Mai (ice cream with dulce de leche cream and Mille fuille), which was just incredible. This place is definitely not to be missed.
I’m also not alone in thinking this restaurant was the best! Two couples sitting next to us had eaten at Ginger multiple times during their trip, which really says something when there are thousands of incredible restaurants in Santorini. Wish we could go...
Read moreWe made a reservation for this restaurant as soon as we read their reviews - and it did not disappoint!
We got two signature sushi dishes, (one salmon and one shrimp), tuna balls and the beef fillet on volcanic stone. The beef certainly was the main highlight of the night!
The sushi was also delicious and fresh though, don't get us wrong, but it was the beef fillet on the volcanic stone that kept cooking the longer you left it on that amazed us the most.
The staff were very attentive and friendly, the man who took our order was extremely accomodating and gave off a very positive energy.
The drinks were great, Japanese beer and two cocktails, Sake-Rita and the Pink Panther were lovely and refreshing.
Safe to say that if we had another couple of days or if we were to come back, WE WOULD BE BACK!
Ginger Sushi is a place we recommend whether its to have sushi and other bits of food or to chill out before or after the sunset with a couple of drinks. It's a place you'll feel like you're officially on holidays... Thanks...
Read moreMy partner and I arrived for an early dinner (6pm). We liked the look of a larger table at the front but were directed to the two seater table. There was no one in the restaurant so I was surprised that we couldn’t have a choice of where we sat. The two seater table was off balance so the waitress came over and kicked this wood piece underneath the table… almost pushed the table away with her kicking force. Didn’t end up fixing the unbalanced table. Then the menu came as a QR code. It opened up a website with advertisements and i had to enter my mobile number to access the menu. The website didn’t recognise my international number so we left. If I’m going to spend more than 100euros on dinner… I would like the choice of where I sit (within reason), a menu that I can actually access, and have service with a smile. We ended up having dinner at Hachiko Sushi Tales and Cocktails which was amazing. See my review for...
