Would NOT recommend. Do yourself a favour and spend your money elsewhere. Don’t be fooled by the premium price of this hotel, it is far from it and I’ve never been so shocked by the state of a place with such high prices. It was extremely dirty, almost as if the cleaner hadn’t even bothered to clean the room since the last guest. There was sand and dirt covering the surfaces, and there was used toiletries left from the previous guest in the shower. The hotel advertised that it provides toiletries but they were not provided for us. We had to ask the cleaner who was very reluctant to hand any over. The shampoo she gave us was in a crumpled bottle that definitely looked like it had been already used by somebody else and then refilled with some cheap blue liquid that left my hair feeling horrible. The toiletries were not topped up at all during our stay. The towels were old, cheap and thin with stains and frayed edges. They remain damp because there is no air flow and they were not changed. Also, you don’t get beach towels or extra towels, they are very strict with a 1 towel per person policy. During the day the room is “cleaned” but weirdly the bed sheets are taken off and folded up so at night you have to make your own bed before you sleep. Don’t understand what the point of this is? If you book the traditional cave double room beware that it’s tiny - so small there is barely space to put a suitcase on the floor without blocking the door. The owner is friendly and offers to help you organise things but the prices he quotes are much more than you would pay if you just book it yourself. To be honest this place has potential to be nice if the owner invested some money into it, but it seems that he does not care. It was just a weird and unpleasant stay and we avoided being at the hotel most...
Read moreThey say a good dinner isn't measured by what you eat, but by who you eat with? The same should be said about hotels. Last September my girlfriend and I traveled to Greece and visited Athens, Mykonos and stayed at Hotel Katerina during our stay in Santorini. The owner Tomas is one of the nicest people you will meet on the planet, let alone as somebody helping you check-in. He is overly accommodating and if you make yourself available will make you feel like family. Every night Tomas kept the bar area open late to myself and other couples to have glasses of wine and talk about life and family. He went out of his way to give us tips on where to eat, find ATV's (to travel around the island), and what to do. I read people complaining about the size of the hotel rooms, and my response is you shouldn't be traveling to such a lovely place as Santorini to stay holed up in a hotel anyways. It's more incentive to view the wonderful island. The hotel is overlooking the amazing sunset and the string of all the lovely buildings along the coastline. Our room was always tended to with the greatest of upkeep and there are so many great walkways and restaurants nearby. It's a wonderfully priced hotel and with a patio area for you to relax and watch the most breathtaking sunset you will ever see. Great location, and a family like atmosphere. This mom and pop hotel is extremely impressionable and dear to my heart. So much so that I plan on coming back to Santorini and will stay here again not just for the lovely views and location but to catch up with Tomas. You are amazing Tomas, we'll...

You’ll be surprised to know that our toilet got clogged a few times in 5 days so it was a pleasure struggling all day. ||||Now, let’s talk about what really matters: |The host||If you’re reading this, I’m deeply sorry. ||Are you guys looking for the perfect way to lose your money? The host will be there for you anytime you want! Starting with a beer and a cola at 25 euros overall. Do you want to feel under pressure right when you arrive at the hotel? He’ll be there for you too!! Trying to be too friendly very quickly turns out to be quite annoying. ||Overall everything wasn’t that bad but not good either. I think the price is worth the view but if you’re looking for a friendly, significant host and a large room you’ll be disappointed. ||||Ps: The Cleaning lady was extremely sweet so THINK ABOUT TIPPING HER! |||Thanks for reading....
