A HEARTLESS Hotel putting profits over compassion. I recently had the misfortune of dealing with what can only be described as a heartless and profit-driven establishment masquerading as a hotel.
I had booked to stay two nights in the Deluxe suite however, unfortunately, my father was ill before my planned stay, and despite our desperate situation, this hotel showed absolutely no empathy or understanding, refusing to refund my hard-earned money. Even letting them know 4 weeks in advance from my planned stay!
It is truly disheartening to witness a complete lack of compassion in an industry that prides itself on providing comfort and hospitality. One would expect a basic level of human decency and empathy from any respectable establishment.
When I reached out to the hotel management, Elfi the hotel manager made clear it ''was not possible to speak to the owner''. Hoping for some understanding and flexibility I was met with callous responses and an unwavering adherence to their rigid cancellation policy. With Elfi repeatedly aggressively stating ''its the hotels policy not to refund'' It became painfully apparent that their primary concern was not the satisfaction or well-being of their guests but rather their own financial gain.
I understand that hotels have policies in place to protect themselves against last-minute cancellations. However, there should always be room for compassion especially when given a months notice!
In a world where kindness and understanding should be the norm, this hotel's lack of compassion sets a sad precedent. It is my hope that they will reconsider their stance and prioritize the health and welfare of their guests in the future. Until then, I advise everyone to steer clear of this hotel and seek accommodations elsewhere, where humanity and empathy still hold...
Read moreWe stayed in the Executive Suite for 4 nights. it was a fantastic experience. The place is clean and matches exactely the description on the website. The location is perfect, just 5 minutes walk from the busiest part of Oia, not too many steps to the main road and the supermarket. We were welcomed by Niki, who was present every morning to check that everything was in order, and Elfi was in touch with us by whatsapp regularely too. One morning we ordered the breakfast in the room (actually we had it in our private Jacuzzi) which was lovely and good value compared to normal prices in bars around Oia. The bed is massive and confortable, loved the pillows. Casa de Caldera is such good value for money, we will surely reccommend to family and friends. Only suggestion we can give is is to add to the room some place to hang wet swimwear and maybe a chest of drawers?...
Read moreVERY BAD EXPERIENCE (DOUBLE ROOM). The room is not as it looks from the website. It is very small and very dirty. We found dirty bedsheets (with yellow spots also in the pillow), dirty mattress cover (blood spot), dirty glass for toothbrush (water inside with black mold/stuff), dirty and very old WC brush, spiders and dirty stuff accumulated close to the wifi-router and attached to the walls. Furthermore, no box-shower, no table on the terrace for breakfast, broken glass-shelf in the toilet, room very humid and bad smelling. After the first night we were disgusted and we had to leave and to find another accommodation. We talked to Nick, sent him all the pictures, and asked for a refund of the last two nights (that we did not sleep there) but we did not receive any money back. STAY AWAY FROM...
