Nano Oia Canaves — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

We stayed in the honeymoon suite for two days. I don’t normally write reviews but thought it prudent to share my thoughts.

First the good: the location of Nano Oia Canaves is excellent and the views from the rooms small balcony are second to none for both sunrise and sunset. Jaw dropping to say the least.

Second, the not so good: similar to other reviews the room is tiny with no storage space whatsoever for clothes or luggage. We had two large suitcases and were forever clambering across the bed or manhandling the suitcases out of the way to move around. In addition, the fridge constantly leaked water across the floor.

The included breakfast was not remotely worth it and you are better off going to the cafe at the top (Luno). On our final day we ordered breakfast for 9:30 and it arrived at 10:15 and they got the order wrong anyway.

The final straw was the “spa” on the balcony - we were somewhat surprised that it was cold and the filter was not working so the water was “stagnant”. You could see an oily film across the top from sun cream. The light at night didn’t work and we saw other residents using theirs at night but didn’t venture into ours. We raised it with Julian but by that point we were too frustrated to care.

Suffice to say we enjoyed the location, got the required photo’s but were glad to be heading to our next destination (Paros) where the accommodation and service has been far...

Our stay at Nano Oia Canaves was simply perfect. We spent 3 nights in the Master Suite, which was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed, complete with a private living area and a stunning heated pool just for us. The cleanliness was impeccable — not only was the room cleaned daily, but also the pool was meticulously maintained every morning.

As we explored Oia, we realized just how lucky we were with our choice. The suite offered not only breathtaking views, but also a great privacy. Although the villa is next to another, no one can see you while you're relaxing in the pool — unlike many other properties in Oia, which are completely visible from the main walking path and exposed to tourists passing by.

What truly made the experience exceptional was the hospitality. Vasilis was kind and helpful throughout our stay. He was always quick to respond to any questions we had, and gave us great advice to help organize our activities.

Highly recommended to anyone looking for a special and private escape...

Stayed in the junior suite for three nights and the view is unbeatable !

I arrived late and julian came down specially to welcome me and in the first five minutes I was completely impressed with how professional he was . I was carrying massive luggage’s totalling 45 kgs . Not only did he insist I not help him he also flew down the stairs with my luggage while I struggled to keep up with him down the stairs.

He was very attentive and realised my room had no water even before I realised it and came down again to pass me water:

I was super grumpy and tired but that didn’t deter friendliness and explanations.

The view as mentioned was amazing , housekeeping was great and the tools were clean . Only problem was for my room the hot water and water pressure could be improved upon.
