We spent several nights in Hotel Sabana, actually extended our stay. The hotel is close to dining and activities, but away from the noise, traffic and loud music that is so common in Flores. The island is very small, nothing is far! Our room was clean and bright. We were at the end of the hallway and had several windows. Lots of light. The bathroom was small but the shower worked well and there was hot water. The wifi worked in our room most of the time. ||This is not the place for you if you have mobility issues. There are lots of stairs and no elevator. This is true for most of Guatemala. It’s not very accessible in some ways. ||The staff do not speak English, again, not unusual for this area. Read moreRecently booked into this place and had some issues. The AC units were very leaky in the rooms and left the floors very wet. Housekeeping came to bring towels to sop up the water but the draining issues should be fixed to avoid moldy, humid rooms. The option we were offered was to switch to a room with much smaller beds that couldn't accommodate our family size. The front desk staff was unhelpful when we asked for a pool towel for each member of our group and told us that since children did not pay, they did not get a pool towel. They were aware of the children in our group prior to check-in, so it was odd that they couldn't lend us pool towels. There were ants and roaches in the room. Read moreWifi is only for the lobby! (Where I am writing this review). Our room was not very clean. I usually don't complain about towels but those are old to the point you wonder if they are clean. We arrived by bus at 5AM, the hotel was closed. We had to call in order for them to open the door. I don't blame them for that it's just some tips for any future travelers. We had an issue upon checking in because they didn't wanted to honor the price we had from our reservation on Expedia. After 45min trying to reach Expedia customer service and having them fix the situation they honored the price and gave us a room ( it was 6AM) so that's a very early check in! Only issue is before approving our stay, the desk changed our room probably to give us the worst...
