This was the best place we’ve stayed at in our 4 weeks travelling Central America. We messaged them direct (WhatsApp) for better prices and availability that wasn’t on HostelWorld. There’s a 24h Reception, secure entry and a really good atmosphere. The showers are hot, the facilities are really clean and theres a full kitchen (with hobs, kettles and microwaves). The location on this side of the island is perfect if you’re after views and less traffic. It’s also the side where most of the restaurants are. The water taxi to Jeorges Rope Swing is viewable from the rooftop terrace (would highly recommend!). The reception staff are really knowledgeable and are more than happy to give you an idea of “the locals price” for tours if you’re looking to negotiate with the water taxis / tour companies for excursions. The balcony bar is open every night for the hostel guests, and can’t be heard from the rooms. This is not a “party hostel” per se. Think; ‘coronas at sunset while looking over the lake’, not ‘tequila shots until you’re disorientated’. (Try Los Amigos Hostel if that’s what your looking for 👍) There’s also a very social hostel cat :) Overall, we would highly recommend this place. Enjoy 🤙 27 yo / M / travelling in couple

The room was clean, but that was about everything, that’s really been positive about this hostel. Upon arrival we were informed, that there would be a party on the terrace exactly above our room. Even with noise protection there‘s nothing you could do about it, as they’ve put an outdoor PA System up there, supplying you with a 100 decibels and enormous bass until almost 1am in the morning. As the ceiling is extremely bad soundproofed, it’s been an absolute pleasure to get waken up every morning at 7am, because seemingly every chair and table gets rearranged on the terrace without lifting them, but rather by pushing them across the floor, making extremely loud noises for a good half an hour. I would never come again, as I think this behavior is absolutely ignorant, especially for the price you have to pay for this room.

I have stayed three nights at the hostel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The first dorm I was staying in was badly smelling like bleach or some cleaning stuff. So I requested to change the room without any problems. This room was good from the smell. The lockers are really really small. You can't look a back in or anything bigger than a wallet. Kitchen is well equipped only thing which is missing seasoning and some oil for cooking. Fresh water is supplied. WiFi works quite well. Air-conditioner works on and off. But this is a common problem.on the island because of the electricity. Hostel is quite modern and clean. Nice lookout over the lake.

  1. Cool and quiet room. even though the island of flowers has details with the light, so the AC. it turns on and off at night the room is cool and you can sleep well. The plus is that each room has an individual fan that helps to cool and you can easily redirect it to your liking and the room has a medium fan that cools the entire room and the AC that on occasions. It turns off and on due to low light.| 2) the sheets are clean and smell delicious. The detail of the clean and soft towel is charming and also the shampoo and soaps that they give you at the entrance. I should mention that the bathroom and showers do not smell like pee like in other places.| 3) Regarding the equipment of the kitchen, it is one of the best equipped that I have had in a hostel in Guatemala. the kitchen is spacious and allows conviviality.| 4) the terrace is enviable and ideal to work on your projects (coworking) if you are a digital nomad. you can without problems and calmly enjoy your breakfast, dinner and work in front of the lake. many restaurants and hotels would like that view and that peace that is breathed in the hostel.| 5) They are excellent for making the trips and tours that are contracted with them the best and at a very reasonable price and at the last minute. I quoted in different places (directly with agencies, hostels and hotels and in Cenobio (here) it was the only one that gave me the most accessible price and where food and transportation were included and they always attended me quickly through whatts app.| 6) The environment is ideal for connecting with female travelers.| I must mention that I find this Hostel ideal for women who travel alone, since at all times I felt calm and confident. An experience happened to me that I went out at night alone to dinner and after I came (I didn't realize it) a person was following me and Bianca realized it and supported me. Everything fascinated me and honestly it is the best hostel of all in which I stayed in Gautemala; I am only going to mention that I would have liked the availability of a shared room for women only and that they sell prepared food or snacks for travelers who later arrive hungry at night and everything is closed. and that they improve the strength of the landless ones that are used to fill the...

The views are gorgeous, the rooftop is chill, it’s well cared for and very clean. There’s an inside/outside living feel that is really really nice. The staff at reception are amazing, kind and go the extra mile to help. They really are incredible and will do anything to assist you! Showers are excellent and hot and WiFi is very good!

But it’s also weird. There’s a 25Q charge to leave your luggage with them after check out and a 50Q charge to stay and hang out in the hostel after check out (in total it amounts to more than half the cost of one night’s stay). Money wasted aside, it gives a deep feeling that the hostel is ungenerous, advantageous and not welcoming. You are warned about it before your arrival, which does also instantly sour the taste of the hostel before you’ve even stepped through the door.

There’s more strangeness - no locks on any dorm doors, but also no lockers to keep your bags in (apart from a tiny, passport sized locker). There’s no kitchen or even use of a fridge (though signs are hung up on bedroom doors detailing how to use the kitchen appropriately). A passport or driving license is required as deposit for a towel, rather than the standard cash deposit. The hostel only accepts cash, for everything including for your stay there.

I think they need to rethink some of the details listed above in order to create a better vibe! The staff and the building are both amazing - but it’s really let down by some...
