We booked this hotel in the last minute to spend New Year's in Antigua. My advice is book way ahead. For 3 adults we ended paying 220usd per night. They advertise much lower prices. So book ahead and not at the last minute. The rooms are basic. Very clean. Comfortable. Quiet. Small TV basic cable. It's well located. A small breakfast is included. At night the hall lights have sensors and will turn on and off as you walk through. Our room had a small living room in front outside. Well, our last night something funny happened... the lights in the hall and the living room would turn on as if someone was going through and there was noone.... this repeated itself a few times.... we told them before leaving but denied having any paranormal activity there... all in all we had a nice stay. My party and I recommend this quaint...

I booked via booking the large room, when I got to the hotel they wanted to give me the smaller room for the same price, I said that it’s not ok, and if I get the smaller room I should get a discount, they laughed at me and told me that if I’m not pleased with the room I can leave, I said that it’s not ok and if they want to kick me out they should compensate me for not giving me what they confirmed, than the manager went crazy and told me to get out of the hotel and that I’m not welcomed there, it was a really bad experience and eventually we had to find a new hotel, and pay for another taxi to get there, what was really upsetting was that it seemed that they didn’t want us there from the first place because it was a weekend and they could get a higher rate...

Fantastic location and colonial look and feel. |But other than that very uncomfortable. Mattresses hard as wood. My room definitely wasn’t the advertised 15 sqm, it was basically the size of a double bed.|Rooms have a window toward the inside of the building, however those don’t close well and are covered with curtains which are way too small and let much of the bright hallway light through. Also it means other guests can see into the room from the hallway. |The wooden ceilings make you hear every move of rooms and hallways upstairs.|Breakfast only at one exact time (8am) instead of a time window so you have nothing if you want to...

This is a centrally located hotel, near the beautiful church of La Merced. It occupies a historic old house with a fountain, climbing vines and ironwork. They can arrange transportation to Guatemala City and beyond at competitive rates. The cost includes a tasty breakfast. My main complaint was the bed, which was rather saggy and a bit short for these Westerners.
