The apartments are placed in the Jewish District near Blaha Lujza tér, where you find Metro and trams Tram and 4 and 6 brings you down to the river, where you can change to tram 2, which brings you downtown. So according to transportation and getting around it is the ideal location to stay. ||The apartments are big with a kitchen, bathroom with tub and washing machine, a living room with a sofa (Fold out to 2 persons bed), television, 1 chair and and a room with a bed. There are free Wi-fi - if it workes. There are dresser and closet, iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, bucket and mop, but no broom! There is a kitchen with a stove, microwave and electric water kettle and a table and 4 chairs.||There are room with balcony or terrasse and you can get an apartment to the street side or garden side.||There are a lot of noise from the streets as one could expect, when you choose a holiday in the heart of a big city, So that is, what you choose, and not anything to do with managing of the apartment!||||The negative;||We rented an apartment for 4 persons. The description said, that it would be a fully equipped kitchen and we were told, that there would be cleaning every 5th day. We stayed for 7 nights and did not get any cleaning or fresh towels in that time. The well equipped kitchen was missing a lot. 3 glasses for 4 persons, 3 plates for four persons, 3 teaspoons for 4 persons, 1 small buttering board for 4 persons, 1 ||cutting board but no bread knife. We told this in the reception, where the young lady smiled and said, that they would fix it: It never happened. There was a 1 big pot and a small pot, 1 destroyed skillet, that it could not stand straight on the stove, so after one attempt cooking supper, we went to only cook pasta to a salad as anything else would be impossible. ||The bedroom had a bed with bed with cracked covers on mattresses and broken slatted frame. The bed was app. 25 cm high and there were barely room to get up on the side, so I have quit many bruises that I got trying to get out of the bed.||The bathroom has a bathtub and shower. The bathtub was so slippery that my son fell twice, as there was no slip mat. The shower could not hang when the bracket was broken.||In the living room there was a chair covered with a green blanket as it was ruined underneath.||We were instructed, that the key to the apartment should be turned 4 and a half to open the door - not more or less.||The balcony is app. 1m x 1 m, so do not expect to drink your morning coffee at the balcony.||I just want to tell, that we got an apartment on second floor over a pub and to the street side: In weekdays there were noise, but just of people having fun and a few drinks, But on Friday and Saturday big hoards of single Englishmen came to town to drink and they were very noisy - both at the pub and in the apartments. Though, It seemed as if the pub closed early to get rid of them, because at 10 p.m there were no unpleasant noise from the pub. ||A good advise: Try to get an apartment to the garden side, where there also seem to be possible to get a bigger balcony.||It is a bit sad - Some smaller fixing and new supplies of kitchentool, a new chair, madrasse and some legs on the bed and every thing would have been okay - not fashionable, but okay - We didn´t expect an 4-stars apartment, but we expected better...
Read moreWhat quality you will get renting with Akacfa Holiday Apartments is probably lottery - based on our experience and reviews we've seen here before our trip. ||We were in Budapest 6 days in the beginning of August and based on many good reviews and good location we decided to rent apartament for 2 in Akacfa Holiday Apartments. ||||POSITIVES ||It's not many positive things we can say about it:||- good location - it's in Jewish district, less that 10 min. walk to The Great Synagogue, less than 20 to the Danube river, close to public transport (bus, metro); also close to the shops (Spar, Tesco express) and plenty of small restaurants, cafes, burger-places, bars etc.||- no problem with late check-in - if you are going to check-in late it's just write to them before; we did that and our keys +instruction how to find the room were waiting for us.||- wi-fi - it's fine and working without any problems.||||NEGATIVES||Unfortunately many. If you want to have a rest and relax on your holiday it's wrong address. ||- we got the room without air-condition and with around 30 degrees outside and sunny side of the building... just imagine how hot was in the room. We found there fan, but not working, so we asked in the reception for new one. We heard that someone will come and check it, but no one never checked that. BIG MINUS||- living room: tolerable - double bed it's just two single old beds put together (with not too comfortable mattress), old TV, one closet, non-working fan, table with chairs and one armchair.||- bathroom: at first it looks fine but if you will start to use it - ehhh... there is bathtub, but you can see some black spots near the wall, so... And this bathroom curtain - didnt look 'fresh' and definitely not working as it should bcoz after shower hole bathroom was full of water (there was also washing machine, but we didnt check if it's working and quite poor hair dryer - slow, but working).||- towels: during our stay (from Suday evening till Saturday) were NEVER changed for fresh ones.||- whole suite: trust me, it didnt look cool and modern like at the photos posted by owners, but rather poor and not much comfortable (and this ugly mustard-color curtains).||||NEUTRAL/NEGATIVE||- kitchen: tolerable - small but working fridge, working microwave, toster and boiling pot, oven, but when it comes to dishes, glasses, cutlery and other kitchen stuff - disaster! Glasses: just 2 (two different), wine glasses: 2 (two different of course), 2 cups, corkscrew, 3 plates, 3 sets of cutlery (all different). If you want to cook there - pointless to try: one pan, one super-big pot one stainer, one paddle and that's all. What I know, that there is IKEA in Budapest and it wouldnt cost much to put full set of basic kitchen set and...
Read moreWe wanted to be in this area. I had stayed in other holiday apartments run by a different company within the same block, but these actually provided a proper balcony (room 417).|The location is perfect. Shame the Old Man's Music Bar opposite has closed down, but there are plenty more options nearby.|The bar downstairs wasn't open passed 1am, but that could be because it is out of season.|Szimpla Kert is 5 mins away.|The metro is 5 mins away. Mini market next door. 24 hour kebab & tobacconist also less than 2 mins away.|If you need to change money do it in this area (by the New York Cafe) as once you get into town the rates drop.|The apartment had everything we wanted - fridge, glasses, cups and a kettle. Everything else was an added bonus eg coffee maker & microwave & hob.|The beds were comfy for us. We like hard beds. |I will definitely stay again. It was everything we wanted, somewhere to sleep in a great location with the ability to make a coffee when we woke...
