This was the worst place that I have ever stayed in my life||Firstly the lift to the room was extremely unsafe and felt like it could break at any second.||Secondly the bed was rock solid, can imagine sleeping in a prison cell is comfier. We were given one extremely thin poor quality pillow per bed. I asked for another as my collarbone is injured and they said 1 per bed only. I had to sleep on my towels!!||The whole place felt dirty. The room looked like it hasn't had a proper clean foe years.||The walls were so thin, I could hear everything that a RUDE few people in the hostel were shouting at 11 at night. |At night time the noise from outside is ridiculous and even earplugs couldn't drown it out.||No air con meant that on top of the rock solid bed, aching neck due to lack of pillows, itching feeling due to the dirtiness, loud noise from outside, we were also sweating.||I have NEVER had such an awful 3 nights sleep and this has affected our interrailing in such a negative way.||I can only assume that 90% of the reviews here are fake or paid reviews as no normal person could enjoy their stay here. Even a homeless person would...
Read moreI chose this place as it was walking distance from the keleti railway station, and it's not very far from the landmarks of Buda and Pest. (A neat 20-30 min walk both ways.)||||The building was a little too dilapidated, and once I got into the elevator, it was even more worrying. But the hostel was well done up. It's a small establishment, which means less noise. It had a friendly happy vibe to it, and even the people I met there seemed relaxed and fun. The community spaces like the kitchen and the lobby area were nice to hangout.||||Oh, the breakfast was simple and nice too. Loved the bed, considering the fact that it was the cheapest one I got in my Eurotrip. The number of washrooms seemed less, but then I never had to wait. Wifi was good, and they had a few computer terminals with internet. The staff were exceptionally helpful.||||There's a McDonald outlet pretty close by for people who aren't that much into local food.||||They did not have a locker room to keep my stuff in for a few hours after I checked out. They literally dumped it in a little balcony-like space outside...
Read moreI visited the bar of this hostel with some friends whilst walking through Budapest one evening and seeing the advertisement for beer at 400 Forint outside. Thinking the price to be about average for the area, we decided to go in and give it a try. The lights are dimmed, with an eerie green glow eminating from around the walls. ||||The music selection was an interesting mix of clubbing beats and reggae - most of which seemed to be French. On approaching the bar and ordering, the man behind it poured our drinks, but said he could not serve them to us because he doesn't actually work there. That was slightly odd, but he went to get the real barman who served us without a problem.||||The atmosphere was perhaps a little loud, but overall the beer was reasonable and the experience pleasant. I cannot comment on the hostel, but compared to some of the others in the city, the bar is rather clean and not quite so much of a dive. The toilets are upstairs in the main hostel itself though, which did not seem quite so impressive as...
