Spent 4 nights here and it was a very welcoming, clean and perfect stay. Myself and my partner drove to Budapest for our small get-away whilst daughter was with her grandparents and everything was beautiful. The staff really went above and beyond on making our stay fantastic. The room was clean and comfortable, perfect view and big window to look out to every morning on the busy street which we actually enjoyed this feature. We were in room 12 which I think is the deluxe room. Although this is not one of their largest rooms, in our opinion for a city break it was perfectly sized for a couple and had everything you needed. We only spent night time in our rooms so what more do you need? Very tasteful decor and mini fridge which cold drinks and refreshments restocked everyday. Food was unbelievable, I tried every day a different breakfast option, their coffee was creamy and tasty, fresh juice options and even an evening meal which I very much enjoyed. My partner is Hungarian so he was very happy with the service and food we had every day here. There is nags on the other reviews which seem very unfair in our opinion as the staff make everything clear about breakfast options, additional costs (if any) and if anything, for short stays the variety and quality was top notch. Thank you to those we encountered this week. Köszönöm Emma & András.

the hotel is located 2 minutes away from Fisherman's Bastion so it's a good choice if you plan to visit that area. stayed there for 2 nights and the room was cozy, beds comfortable, with a delicious breakfast and really friendly staff. when we made the booking,we had the breakfast included, which means two croissants, coffee, juice and water. we found this out only after the check in so initially we were not that happy about this. the next morning we ordered something else from the a la carte menu beside the croissants. this was not our best move because even though it seems small, it was more than enough to have those 2 croissants. they are freshly made and quite big. that doesn't mean we didn't enjoy the a la carte food which again, was delicious and I would recommend it. the room itself was nice and we had a street view. as a minus, the bathroom was small, with no ventilation so it can become a problem since it's near the entrance and 2 feet away from the bed the shower area is also open, although that did not bother us at all the hotel also does not have an elevator,as expected since it's an old building. we didn't mind that and I'm positive the staff would've helped us with the luggage if needed, but it's something to keep in mind.

Lovely little hotel and everything about it was great. There is one negative for us that let it down but I'll get to that later. The positives, you won't be let down by the staff all of which were amazing. We have to single out one member of staff that helped us out but unfortunately we didn't get his name. He was on reception first thing on 16th October when we checked out. I had called a taxi for the airport via the Uber app as we'd never been let down. The timing was 7mins to pick up, then it went to 15mins and then 25. We watched the driver on the app come up the castle and then the driver cancelled. The app located another driver who was 15mins away, 10mins later he cancelled. We went back to the hotel and the gentleman on reception really helped us out, he also had problems getting a taxi for us but he was assured it was on the way. Oh and by the way, we had a flight to catch but the taxi turned up as promised By the hotel. By now we were a bit stressed as this process started at 0750 and it was now 0910, gates closed for the plane at 1020. Lol, it would have been easier to get the bus from town. Anyway, we made it in time to have 5 mins in duty free and walk on the plane. Pre book your taxi if not taking the express bus is advisable. Haha. So big thanks to reception. ||We had their room with no windows which was fine, the decor is great and the Aircon is quiet but this is where the hotel is let down a little. The room is not attended/cleaned daily which is fine but tell us the customer so we know before booking. There was no issue if we mentioned it to reception then the room was serviced but if we hadn't twice it wouldn't have been done at all. We stayed for 5 nights. Perhaps the room should be attended daily to make sure the coffee/tea/mini bar if used and the water is replaced but most importantly the toilet paper as I had to go to the restaurant to ask for some Infront of guests eating which I'm sure wasn't nice for them to hear plus embarrassing for me. ||The location is lovely within the castle district with easy regular busses to the city centre (the no16 bus is your friend). If you want to be in the middle of town there are closer hotels but the transport system is cheap and easy and can all be done from Budapest go app. ||So to summarise, lovely staff, lovely hotel, great decor let down by the lack of...

The good, the bad and the lovely

On the day of my arrival, in the late afternoon, I received a phone call from the hotell enquiring about my check-in time. (I think I had indicated an earlier check-in when I made the reservation) As the reception is not staffed after 19.00, and I was not able to arrived before this, they said I would receive an sms with my key retrieval instructions, and they also explained them over the phone. Sure enough, just after this I got the sms, including information that I had been upgraded to the suite (sweeet, I thought (pun intended)) So far, so good.

And the good just kept coming 😊 I found the hotel easily, and when I struggled with the lock-box (for my key), the staff at the bistro connected to the hotel, were more than happy to help. The interior was charming and I found my way to the second floor (or 1st floor for those who use Ground floor 🤷). My suite was absolutely delightful! The layout of the room and the art on the wall gave it a charm that you don't get in the bigger (chain) hotels.

The bathroom was an open solution, but seperated from the sleeping areal with a divider wall. (so if you're not staying by yourself, I recommend you share this suite with someone you're familiar and comfortable with 😉 There is a curtain for the bath area, but it's see-through, so it's not for the shy) Oh, and the toilet is hidden behind what seems to be cupboard doors, quite cute actually, but again, you should be sharing the room with someone you're comfortable with 🤷 The bed was - for me - good, because I prefer a hard mattress, but I guess this could be a goldilocks scenario. If you prefer to sink into a soft mattress, you might have a rough night ahead..

So far, still good! So, the bad? The only thing that comes to mind is that the windows are not soundproofed. So you'll hear the chatter from the bistro downstairs, until they close quite early in the evening. You'll also hear passing buses and other traffic, but in general this is a really quiet area. So not so bad, after all 😊

Finally, the lovely. How else to describe the people running the hotel and the bistro 😊 Thank you so much for a lovely stay, I enjoyed it immensely and will definitely stay there if I'm going back...

Hi not usually one for writing a review so please read this before considering booking my darlings but felt I needed to as needed to warn other potential people who are considering using them. I have just arrived back this morning

Right let’s get the good bits out he way . Hotel room was nice and pleasant however we had no TV for the 4 days we were there. When asking about the TV they said they would contact the maintenance however it was never fixed and was givens lies from the working team and I knew this was a lie as I was given several different reasons . They was comfortable doing this lyin

Hospitality was a 0 wow did nothing for you when asking if we could sit in bistro for a drink was told they were waiting for a group and had no room

The breakfast that I paid extra for when booking DO NOT bother as it was a croissant and cup tea . I asked if I could have a piece of toast instead and was told no by the waiter and he brought be some bread WoW shocking they all where shocking .

This is BIGGY I asked 2 different people that worked there on reception if they would book me a taxi for the airport for this morning at 6am as we needed to be air port for 6 45 they both assured me they had booked me one well NO taxi turned up and I am absolutely appalled again more lies . If it was not for my husband managing to find taxi at a different hotel While I waited with baggage I don’t no what we would have done .

Avoid at all costs they loads better places to stay than this place . However the location...
