Cheap taste for quite elevated prices.Plus you count apart the sidedish and service is included in the bill but that is nowhere ever announced.(the_bill is titled without details too)The dear was a beefsteak, beef not dear but honestly that is not even important if it would be an extraordinary good one but it was not, even for a steak. The brownsauce was the wellknown from menza, really not worthy to ask even if the chef had a bad day, they ran out from dear or just the owner gives a royal fuk on their reputation.Such restaurants should be reputed for excellent ingredients and I ate better in most of the places even for a lecso, honestly.Only the waiter was quite cool ,however if he thinks seriously by announcing :let me know if ican help with the bill (making divided bills was already out of their scope😀) means, that they forgot to mention on the menu or the bill even!that the service fee is included too and in many cases it means +6000huf /well than i get to the conclusion,he was not that cool neither. But the owner probably has his game on tourists if its possible.I would really not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends from abroad, sorry to see that (as a hungarian)but I prefer to rate it as basically a...

Our family drove from Austria and arrived in Budapest in the afternoon. Before exploring the Fisherman’s Bastion, we decided to stop by Fekete Holló for a meal.

We ordered the Fekete Holló Plate for two, which included fried chicken thigh, pork Wiener schnitzel, fried Emmental cheese, and crispy mushrooms, served with French fries and cabbage salad. Everything was well-prepared, crispy, and flavorful.

We also tried a small pot of goulash, which had a rich, hearty flavor, perfect for a chilly day. Another highlight was the roasted pork shoulder, served with fried dumplings, crispy bacon bits (which reminded us of pork cracklings), and fried potatoes. The pork was tender and juicy, and the sides complemented it well.

Even though we had made a reservation, the restaurant was not too crowded, and walk-ins seemed welcome. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making our dining experience even better. Plus, they had an English menu, which made ordering easy.

Overall, Fekete Holló is a great choice if you’re looking for delicious Hungarian food near Fisherman’s Bastion. The cozy atmosphere, good service, and tasty dishes make it...

The food was good and compliments go to the kitchen. Also, the blond young waiter who served us the coffees was very kind and friendly, and that deserves to be mentioned.

Unfortunately, the experience was ruined at the end: we had simply asked for water, and our waitress Janka neither explained that there were different options nor asked which one we preferred. She directly brought the most expensive one — a 0.75 l San Pellegrino for 2,980 HUF (almost €8).

In addition, when my partner ordered the breaded pork cutlet, Janka asked which side dish we wanted, making it seem like it was included in the plate. We chose French fries, but later found them charged separately on the bill for 1,840 HUF.

Of course, we could have paid closer attention to the menu, but a bit of transparency from the waitress would not have hurt. Instead, Janka also appeared visibly annoyed while serving us, which made the whole situation even less pleasant.

We left with the impression that tourists are deliberately pushed towards the most expensive choices. A pity, because the meal itself could have ended on a much...

The place itself and the location were great, the food was also nice; however, we noticed after we paid that there is a service fee (about 6€), although the service was quite basic (fork, knife, glass and paper napkin) and the bread is not included, also one out of the 2 plates we ordered wasn’t what we had asked for; we didn’t realize until later as we’re not familiar with Hungarian cuisine, we only noticed because of the price difference in the receipt(about 3000 ft). I’m sure it was an honest mistake and we should have noticed when they brought it, in the end it was fine, the dish tasted great. We recommend not getting bottled water as it is 7.53€ and also paying in Hungarian ft, not eur as the exchange rate is not convenient. Overall considering the location the experience was fine.

The service and food disappointed me. We had to wait over half an hour to our order. Serving of dishes was miserable, the schnitzel was not served with anything but a piece of lemon and berry sauce. The zucchini soup...was weird. We had to pay extra for a portion of bread. The waiter did not let us eat in a comfortable manner...and every five minutes tried to take away our plates of food. 27% were automatically added to the bill for this kind of service. The price is clearly overpriced and does not correspond to the quality. Not recommended anything but coffee. It was not bad.
