Recently, I came across a few videos showcasing rooftop bars, which inspired me to try one out during my umpteenth visit to Budapest with my girlfriend. After some research, I settled on this particular bar, primarily because it boasted the most beautiful view. Another reason was the convenience of online reservations, a big plus for me since I dislike making phone calls. It also ensured that upon arrival, I'd have a guaranteed spot to sit and enjoy.
A word of advice: make your reservations at least 1 to 2 weeks in advance, as evening slots fill up quickly, leaving only daytime slots available.
The bar is situated atop the Hilton Hotel. Upon arrival, I inquired at the bar's designated reception about how to get there. The receptionist was pleasant and provided clear instructions. Since we arrived early, she asked us to wait in the hotel lobby. We then took one of the two elevators designated for the bar, heading to the 6th floor. From there, we followed the corridor to the right, and at the end, took a left where another elevator awaited. Press 'R' to reach the rooftop.
Once upstairs, a hostess greeted us, checked our reservation, and seated us. A waitress soon presented us with the menu. Being gin enthusiasts, we opted for drinks named "Invidia" and "Gula." Both were exceptional, but the "Invidia" stood out for me. Besides the drinks, we relished the unobstructed panoramic city view, thanks to the large polished glass panels. The glass also shielded us from the wind, a plus given our considerable height. Later, we ordered delicious coffees: a Flat White and a Cortado. After paying, we took a stroll to the bar's end, capturing some private moments with photos. By the way, the maximum stay allowed is 2 hours, as informed by the staff upon entry.
For me, this experience will be a cherished memory from Budapest, thanks to the professional staff, inviting ambiance, breathtaking views, and overall relaxed atmosphere. I'll definitely return. For two drinks and two coffees, we paid roughly 50 euros. It might seem steep, but it's worth every penny. Lastly, don't miss out on the restrooms; they're truly...
Read moreWe came here on the evening of August 11. The quality of the food was appalling. I don't understand why the chef can't cook or isn't interested in what he can accomplish. The French fries were uncooked, flavourless, and soggy. The Tatar steaks were not fresh and 'had nothing to do' with Tatar steaks. The portion was adequate, but they served us three pieces of dry and hard bread. Is it enough if a piece of bread is two bites? Why is the bread not fresh? Even if it is toasted, it should still be fresh. It seemed like they had been outside for a while. We had to request extra bread, which they promised, but it never arrived, and then the other waiter said we didn't ask for it, even though we did. Anyway, we got them after. The steak was a small portion, which wasn't an issue, but it was rough, rubbery, and full of tallow fat. We requested butter for a meal and received it in the same way as we would in a three or four-star restaurant in a tiny commercial package at breakfast. If I’m right we are in a 5* place. A steak that could be served with freshly created handmade butter (sometimes with various herbs, but I'm guessing no butter here), which they could prepare in the kitchen. Two steaks for two persons cost HUF 26,000. We expect them to be outstanding. I didn't even get the sour roasted corn concept for the steak. The waitress indicated they could prepare a few hundred cocktails, but I requested three, and they couldn't make any of them. We had two cocktails and one Coke. On two occasions, the waiter was standing & chatting with a lady next to our table, about 25-30 cm away, and at such a volume that you could hear what they were saying. This is puzzling, and it would have been preferable if they had spoken in a manner where they did not bother the guests in a different spot. The view is stunning, however, the atmosphere was less than ideal due to the cuisine. We spent approximately 200 euros here. I would strongly advise evaluating the method of cooking and developing what matches what. The view is great, however, due to the meal, I was unable to set expectations. I would only recommend...

The service is exceptional, with attentive staff who are always willing to go the extra mile to make your experience truly memorable. The drinks are expertly crafted and served with a smile, while the food is simply divine – perfect for a romantic evening or a night out with friends.
What sets the White Raven Skybar apart from other rooftop bars is its unique ambiance. The interior is beautifully designed with a modern, minimalist aesthetic that perfectly complements the stunning views of the city. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate, creating the perfect environment for a night of conversation and cocktails.
One area where the bar could improve is its seating arrangements. While the seats are comfortable and stylish, they can be a bit cramped, making it difficult to move around and socialize with other guests.
Overall, the White Raven Skybar is an exceptional destination that is well worth a visit. Its stunning views, exceptional service, and unique ambiance make it a standout among Budapest's many rooftop bars. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an unforgettable night out.
With four stars out of five, I am truly grateful for the owners and staff for creating such a wonderful experience. If they were to expand the seating area or offer more comfortable seating options, it would undoubtedly earn a perfect score. I look forward to returning to this beautiful establishment and would recommend it to anyone...
