Monument to Pope Innocent XI (1611-1689). That Roman Pope was the champion of liberation of Christians and Christian lands captured by the Ottomans. He inspired the foundation of the Holy League of the Holy Roman Empire and Poland, later joined by Russia. Before he died, he saw the liberation of Hungary from Ottoman Yoke. Ironically, but Fanatical English protestants were burning him in effigy; of course, they would gladly burn him in flesh if they only could. Buda Castle, Budapest, 🇭🇺 Hungary 🇭🇺. November 10, 2021.

Pomnik pochodzi z 1936 roku i został wzniesiony z okazji 250 rocznicy wyzwolenia miasta spod panowania Turków. Na postumencie pomnika znajdują się płaskorzeźby związane z odbiciem miasta z rąk Turków, a także ( na tylnej stronie) portrety władców państw należących do tzw. Świętej Ligii walczącej z Turkami: papieża, austriackiego cesarza Leopolda I, Jana III Sobieskiego i weneckiego doży.
