I have never left a negative review before, but there's always a first time. Please beware of booking this hotel, as it sets a poor example for the entire IHG brand. The customer service was extremely rude and unethical.
I accidentally booked a reservation in Budapest, when I had intended to book a hotel in Bucharest. I requested to switch my reservation to another IHG hotel in the correct city. However, I was told to contact Booking.com to sort out the issue and obtain a refund in order to rebook in the right country.
As an elite member of Booking.com due to my frequent travels, they had no issue requesting a cancellation and refund on my behalf, to allow me to book another IHG hotel. Despite this, the hotel insisted I contact Booking.com myself, yet refused to transfer or refund the booking.
One staff member even told me to wait before leaving a review until a manager contacted me the next morning. However, no one reached out, either by phone or email, all morning or afternoon. When I called the hotel, I was informed that the manager could not take calls. At this point, I feel compelled to leave this review and warn others about the poor customer service, which may reflect poorly on the entire IHG chain. Read moreMy recent stay was unfortunately very uncomfortable. When I first checked in, my room was not ready, so I left my luggage with the hotel. Later in the afternoon, I received my room key and was escorted upstairs by a kind front desk staff member. However, upon entering the room, I found another guest’s bag inside and noticed that one of my own bags was missing. At the same time, there was a very unpleasant odor, as if the toilet had not been properly cleaned.
Although the misplaced luggage was eventually returned, the smell in the room remained even after requesting air spray. I reported this issue again, but was told it was due to the building being old, which I found to be an unacceptable explanation. Hoping the issue would be resolved, I left for dinner. When I returned around 9 pm, the front desk was unattended. After waiting, I discovered that my luggage had been moved and my room was changed without clear communication.
Overall, this experience made it difficult for me to rest and enjoy my stay. I hope the hotel can address these issues — especially room cleanliness, communication, and proper handling of guests’ belongings — to ensure a more comfortable experience for...

The rooms at Verno House are smart and luxurious, with a modern twist that adds a unique charm. I had one of the best nights’ sleep in a while, thanks to the comfort and quality of the bedding.
The staff at the hotel are exceptionally friendly and professional. A particularly nice touch was the chocolates and card from the hotel, wishing my girlfriend a happy birthday. It was a lovely surprise and demonstrated a thoughtful and personal touch that enhanced our stay.
The only improvement I could suggest would be the addition of a bar in the lobby. This would provide a convenient spot for guests to relax and socialise, and I hope this is something the hotel might consider for the future.
