Extremely Disappointing Stay at Hotel AK International, Mumbai

I recently had the displeasure of staying at Hotel AK International during the first week of January, and I feel compelled to share my extremely disappointing experience.

From the moment of check-in, the reception staff, especially Mr. Zia and Mr. Abbas, demonstrated a shocking level of rudeness. They were unresponsive to customer queries and displayed a complete lack of professionalism.

The overall quality of the hotel is far below acceptable standards. It barely qualifies as a hotel and resembles more of a lodge. The absence of an in-house kitchen, cafeteria, and restaurant left guests with limited options. Moreover, the lack of a dedicated parking facility added to the inconvenience.

The rooms were cramped with low ceiling heights, and the washrooms were uncomfortably small. The outdated AC struggled to maintain a comfortable temperature, and the TV provided was of subpar quality. The narrow corridors were cluttered with hotel belongings, creating an unsafe and unpleasant atmosphere.

Safety measures, including fire exits, were noticeably absent, making the overall experience quite concerning. Once a room is booked, it feels like residing in a matchbox, with little regard for customer comfort.

The check-out process was not smooth either. They even failed to provide the invoice, citing the unavailability of the system operator early in the morning.

The room cleaning facility is available only on request. Numerous maintenance issues were evident, such as broken tiles, a damaged dustbin, and a TV set that appeared unstable and ready to fall. The 5-litre geyser provided failed to supply hot water consistently. The lack of amenities, apart from soap and Clinic Plus shampoo, was disappointing.

The lighting in the room was minimal, and there was no designated space to keep bags and other belongings. The absence of a lift made mobility difficult. The hotel does not allow cancellations after online payment.

Moreover, there is no dedicated room for their staff, and I observed them sleeping on the reception sofa. Drinking water is only available upon request.

I strongly advise NOT TO BOOK a room at Hotel AK International due to its poor service, inadequate room quality, lack of safety measures, absence of parking and dining facilities, and overall lack of customer care and attention.

Overall, my experience was extremely unsatisfactory, and I cannot recommend this...

We booked a triple room. The rooms in general are quite small and in a triple room the best part was there were full three beds for three adults. But there was very little space for other things especially keeping luggage. The staff behavior was very good. I had a toe injury and upon request and availability of another triple room downstairs our room change was cordially arranged for. |Overall good experience especially as the hotel is located in a very good location with Marine Drive to Colaba Market being hardly under 5 kms from the hotel. Also there are several well rated restaurants and cafes in the vicinity for all your food cravings.|To Note:|1. Okay, I had mixed feelings about this place. Pros: clean, pretty cheap, across the road from a really good restaurant and fantastic location for sight seeing in south of mumbai. Cons: Rooms are really small (cannot lie a suitcase on the floor), toilet and shower are shared (so once you use the shower the toilet is sopping wet as well), staff give the illusion of being helpful but will not really answer questions). Notes: the road that the hotel on is under construction so will have to carry bags from the main road. Prefer cash rupees.

In general this was a pretty cheap place to stay and good for two students but the rooms are tiny and really are for sleeping only. When the rooms are cleaned they are very neat and the bathroom has been mopped well...
