After looking along Hanoman Street I was referred to Raditia for one of the cheapest stays around in central-central Ubud (I arrived in person and negotiated less than online prices which is standard if you turn up and they want to fill rooms. I negotiated ca $AU20 for 2 nights.) ||I'm used to homestays and not fussy considering the good price - however I left early after 1 night. Sheet cover was stained, no sheets/ coverings provided (after asking I was given a rough not too clean looking blanket) and the room very dirty - first thing I did was wipe things down, no toilet paper provided, no towels etc. ||Raditia was totally empty - I was the only guest and the owners seemed to be away - there was only one (friendly but somewhat out of his depth) local guy who took my money and who eventually turned up to answer concerns and who to his credit refunded my $10 (rupiah equivalent) for my second un-used night. ||Bottom line - homestays in Ubud are amazing for budget stays (even cheaper than dorm hostels if you show up in person and can bargain) - I had two other BRILLIANT experiences for budget prices - but avoid Raditia until the owner shows up and gets this place ship shape again with a (very) thorough clean and some new sheets!||||Tip - for budget Ubud stays (i.e. US$10-$15 per night per room, breakfast for 2 included) wander the streets (with your luggage securely stored somewhere for ease of walking) and get off Hanoman for much friendlier, cheaper and more quiet budget homestays just 2 streets up e.g. on Jembawan, or the smaller roads running north off the main rd. There are tonnes of sweet homestays - after leaving Raditia I eventually found a perfect homestay right opposite a yoga studio - big room with verandah and double bed / ensuite with rain shower, fresh sheets (made up daily), aircon, hot water, towels etc all for $15 / night (negotiated rate for 7 day stay). NB - this and similar budget local homestays are often not online at all - you just have to wander the streets and look out for the 'homestay signs'. Good luck to the shoestring travellers out there...
Read moreThe room has everything that you need for your stay, I had some friends that had booked other homestays that cost a little bit more per night and they looked about the same as mine so within the 10-15€ price range it will all be somewhat the same.
The only downside with the rooms was that the toilet seat was not attached, not a problem for me but it is something that can be fixed quite easily.
Internet speed averaged at 15m/bit which is okay for basic tasks on the computer and for YouTube.
If you need to do bigger downloads and uploads then it will take some time.
Location is amazing and I had everything I needed within a...
Read moreIt's a really good place close to different beach sin Canggu. Raditia Homestay is quite small place but really good if you want to stay in a quiet spot in Bali, where you can enjoy good places, good vibes and it's quite close to the most electric nightlife of the island (Seminyak and Kuta). The owner of this place, Made, is a really good man and he was very helpful with me and my friend. He helped giving us advices about the best places to go and for renting motorbikes. He's a really nice guy and it was amazing to stay at his place! We recommend this place to everyone and especially...
