The cafe looks nice, the view on the rice fields is very relaxing. But the stuff is sooo pushy to keep ordering food and drinks. I planned to spend two hours working in the cafe on my laptop. I ordered a coffee first and a soft drink. I was immediately pushed to order food. I apologised saying I would order soon as I don’t feel like eating lunch at 11am. Till 12.15pm I’ve been asked four times to order something. I was not even hungry and gave up ordering a light but not cheap lunch. 20min after my lunch arrived I was asked again to order something. I actually got really annoyed. And snapped at them saying if I get hungry again I will make sure they know about that. And to leave me alone as I need 10min of focus. 15min later I’ve been asked to order dessert. I understand if the cafe was full and the turn over of customers was quick to release the seat but it was completely deserted. There was me and other two couples. I came twice to this place hoping it wouldn’t happen again but I won’t be coming...
Read moreI came here to have a breakfast. I also asked if they provide a free glass of water (in most expensive places they offer water for free). They said that the water here is extra 5000 for a glass so I refused to order. After 5 min they still brought me the water and I thought this is a courtesy from the restaurant but when the bill came I saw it was included. I explained to the waitress that I had cancelled the water but she said there's nothing she can do and I had to pay for something I had cancelled. Of course it's not a big sum but I felt this was a bad way to start my day. This is just a tourist trap and they try every single way to milk tourists for some extra money. They should learn something more about customer service and maybe improve their English if they don't understand simple sentences like "No, thank you." I would not repeat going to this...
Read moreUsed to be my favorite place to go in Ubud, for fresh and tasty vegan food. However just before Galungan day they raised their price by 15% (all the menu that was tax included became not tax included - even when you take over the counter raw food or take away drinks). Additionally they are making mistakes at the counter when calculating prices.
So overall it's a nice place with a cosy atmosphere and great food. Their home made bread is quite good. You get even a nice view when you get a seat at the back of the restaurant. And the staff is overall nice (except when they realise they made a mistake with the bill) But way too expensive for what it is. (Tip : re-calculate the extra % charge yourself just in case!)
