Room very poorly soundproofed We stayed for two nights at the hotel. The rooms are clean and the decoration is of old school Capri style.
The front desk staff was quite cold compared to the restaurants and the pool.
We booked a room called "Superior". the latter was located on the first floor and unfortunately the room was not soundproofed. You can hear the lonely rattle of the left neighbor, the television and the greasy cough of the neighbors on the right as well as the high heels of the neighbor of the top. Unbearable! For a hotel of this standard, the only (cold) response we received was "the hotel is full" before I even made the request. To believe that they were used to this type of request and did not intend to solve them by the. The hotel seems pretty active on this site to respond to bad reviews. I tell you straight away: do not even try to "apologize for the poor quality of my stay" by responding to my opinion. Your apologies, I do not want them and I will not give them to you.
I take this opportunity to leave a message to the moderators of this website by specifying that the hotel is no longer referenced as a relay and castles ("Relais et Chateaux"). This title has been lost for years while positive (but old) comments claim it.
Another negative: the lack of shuttle to accomodate us from the port to the hotel. We had to get by alone to come and go, which is absolutely unworthy for a hotel at this price! Only luggage service of course paying is offered (at 15 € each luggage!).
For the Capri's novices, this shuttle service is essential for your stay. The hotel is only accessible after climbing a hill via funicular which is painful after a flight and a boat carrying alone its business. This, knowing that taxis are absolutely overpriced, and that rental cars are prohibited to traffic in the island.
Breakfast is good. The breakfasts and dinners are not good value for money compared to other hotels.
In short, I suggest you to stay in a slightly more expensive hotel but which will give you a free shuttle (included in the price) and that will have soundproofed rooms (which is the minimum for all hotels in...

Read moreOne of the worst hotel experiences I have had in a while. Two main issues, the door to our balcony did not lock (not an elevated balcony, accessible to other people), the second being the room had a horrible lingering odor throughout the entire stay. We notified the hotel about this immediately and after 2 days they were unable to fix the door (3 different people came in and tried to fix it). On the 3rd day (we stayed for 4 nights) they finally offered to move our room. Extremely unsafe and unprofessional. They tried to offer champagne as a solution to our problems. The front desk staff was nice, the manager wasn't as nice. Additionally, we notified them about the smell, but after 4 days...that was never resolved. The hotel is well located, everything else was underwhelming, I would not recommend. Still to this point there has not been a solution offered for the trouble. Stay at the Mamela, i've heard...
