Capri was amazing, in general, but this place really highlighted the local cuisine and was the perfect setting for a 4th of July celebration... which they do every year on Capri.
The waitress was extremely helpful and informative, and offered alternative preparation methods for various dishes. They even let me snap a quick pic of the very talented chef; immaculately clean working station. I need that hunk of tuna.
There were so many reasonably priced, freshly-caught, local fare choices. We received great recommendations and great local wine. We chose the following:
Le Botteghe's fried specialities short pasta flled with ricotta cheese and salted cod, fish ball with amberjack egg plant, provola cheese, Neapolitan style rice ball with shrimps, timbale of pasta with smoked salmon, black pepper and béchamel sauce. this was a fun experience, and each item had a very unique approach to local seafood, delicious and not heavy.
Le Botteghe raw fish platter 2 oysters, Tuna & Salmon tartare, scampo large size, shrimp. Raw seafood is served afiter the proper blast chilling process. what I look for in a good seafood joint, a raw appetizer plate. So fresh, so flavorful, and elegantly prepared. Very happy with this choice.
We also ordered the CapriBurger with tuna, which was perfectly cooked. I'm not usually a huge fish burger guy, I prefer land-dwellers, but this was on point. Not overcooked, excellent texture for even someone who wouldn't want a fish burger, and superbly fresh toppings. Really well executed.

Read moreDO NOT walk passed this place if you like fresh seafood. Today myself, my sister, friend and daughter visited Pescheria Le Botteghe and made a reservation for the opening time 1pm. You need to make a reservation as it is only a small place that seats approx. 10 - 15 persons. I think we just about had the whole menu. We had the Grilled Octopus, Octopus Carpaccio, Pasta with Clams, Pasta with Fish and Tomato, Tuna/Salmon/Amberjack Fish Crudo, Oysters, Bruschetta with Cherry Tomatoes and Anchovy and Fritto Misto of calamari and anchovy. I know right! how did we fit all of that in plus a few Perinos to top it off. Every dish was fantastic. The service and staff very friendly and they even played some Doris Day, Dean Martin in the background, that we started singing too. I think they were happy when we finally left the restaurant. Read moreThey have a simple menu, but everything they do, they do it well. The seafood is incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the pasta is some of the best I've ever had. I had the catch of the day and the grill fish was perfectly cooked and the meat was tender and juicy.
Booking in advance is a must, as this restaurant is quite popular. They will confirm your reservation via email.
But it's not just the food and service that's noteworthy - the attention to detail here is impressive. From the perfectly cooked pasta to the friendly and attentive staff, every aspect of the dining experience is thoughtfully considered.
Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. If you're a seafood lover or a pasta aficionado (or both!), you owe it to yourself to check it out. The fact that they specialize in simple dishes and execute them so well, is a testament to the quality of their food and their commitment...
