Residenza Giotto — Hotel in Florence

We booked this place for the location & view and it did not disappoint! We had the room with the terrace overlooking the Duomo that had a small whirpool which was a wonderful way to relax at the end of a long day. The room also came with a bottle of complimentary champagne each day, and the staff also brought us fresh fruit a couple of times which was very nice. They also gave us complimentary bottles of water each day which was especially appreciated as it was very hot in Florence during our stay!

The room is a little small especially the bathroom which is split into a toilet/sink and then a very small shower built into the wall near the front door. It was a bit awkward at first but we got used to it. I was also under the impression the room came with breakfast and was disappointed it didn’t which left us rushing to find something quickly before our morning tours each day.

Staff were friendly and helpful! Overall I would recommend staying here for the view...

Lovely room in a very convenient location! We were able to walk to everywhere we needed to go easily. Room was spacious and had a LOT of big shelves which was so nice, we were able to store all our stuff so it wasn’t all over the floor. There was a fridge.The bed was extremely comfortable, we felt very rested during our stay here! Housekeeping came every day to clean and refresh the towels. We also had a lovely conversation with Daniele at the front desk, who kindly answered all of our language questions and gave us recommendations as well. The place is advertised in some places as a bed and breakfast, I think they used to serve breakfast but they don’t anymore (as of August 2024). We knew this going in, but it would have been nice to have breakfast but not a huge deal. Overall this was my favorite hotel we stayed at during our Italy trip because of the comfortable room and convenient location. Would definitely...

So much to say! We loved the view of the Cathedral/Duomo/Bell Tower and semi private balcony! The location was VERY central to all the action. Our host and cleaning staff were very accommodating and kind. Our host had great communication methods for us to reach him and many recommendations for the area. Our room was cleaned each day! The hotel had updated linens and decor as well as great lighting options. We were so fortunate for the view, as not all rooms get this view, so it was much appreciated!

Our only comment is that the check in process was not clearly communicated or obvious. We arrived early, and you cannot easily enter the building unless the host or cleaning staff are on site. Once checked in, we received clear instructions on entering the hotel and rooms. We absolutely loved our experience and would definitely return when in Florence again...
