Great 3 star hotel. Good value and excellent staff. The rooms are basic, no frills. You have a TV, air conditioner, closet, shower/bathroom and comfortable bed. The black out curtains are amazing really drowns all sound and light. No refrigerators in the rooms. Breakfast was great. They offer pretty much everything. Espresso, cappuccino, orange juice, pastries, cereal, yogurt, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, cold cuts, fruit, bread/toast, etc. You get a drink voucher for the rooftop bar upon check in which opens up in the evenings. It’s very nice up there. Great view and nice to go up and sit during the day. The location is the unbeatable. It’s nestled in a pretty quiet section of the Monti. But you are walking distance to everything. Everything you need is close by - restaurants, shops, the colosseum, the church, a mall, the train station. The staff here is so nice and helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

Stayed here at the beginning of November with members of my family (who’d been in Rome before - it was my first time there, let alone Italy). So glad I chose this hotel through the holiday company we booked through. The location is ideal (10 mins walk away from Roma Termini station, which has regular trains to the airport) and it’s in a quiet street. Up the road you have one of the most stunning churches (Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore), whose bells sing out. The rooms are clean and tidy and offer good views of the city, as does the rooftop bar. The breakfasts are fantastic- lots to choose from and you can leave to do your wanders with a content stomach. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and they made the stay there so much better - we went to the front desk to ask for recommendations where to go and eat and were given very good choices. I hope to stay there again, as I really didn’t want to leave.

The Hotel Colosseum is a reasonably priced and centrally located, no-frills hotel. The rooms are clean and simple as are the breakfasts 🍳 . The location on a small hill results in a nice view from the 8th-floor rooftop area, and the small street off the main drag is nicely quiet. The staff is attentive and helpful. At less than a mile from the Colosseum and the Forum it is well located for walking to the main sights, with the metro 🚇 close by for longer trips. Fantastic location, great views from the rooftop bar and friendly staff. Rooms are basic and a little tired. But as a base for sightseeing in Rome it gets the thumbs up 👍🏻 Clean and comfortable. Not too far from the main attractions, everything around 15min walk away, Central Station is 5min walk. Roof terrace has great views across Rome. Had a great time.

Disappointing Stay at Hotel Collesseum in Rome —

I recently stayed at the 3-star Hotel Collesseum in Rome with my girlfriend, and unfortunately, our experience was subpar. While the hotel's location was excellent (5/5), other aspects fell short.

Staff and Hospitality: 0/5 The staff's welcoming nature was lacking. They rarely acknowledged us upon entering, and greetings were inconsistent, typically we wouldn't ever even get a "hi" or "welcome" when walking directly infront of the front desk agent.

Room Comfortability: 1/5 The room differed significantly from the online pictures. It was tiny, with limited space for our 1 medium-sized suitcase and 1 large suitcase. I had to step over even my medium sized suitcase every time to walk through the room. The bed was extremely hard, and the mattress was one of the worst I've slept on. The shower was small, making it difficult to wash without bumping into the sides. The overhead showerhead made it challenging to keep hair dry.

Room Amenities and Cleanliness: 1/5 The room had a strong unpleasant odor, especially after leaving and returning. This was partly due to the single room key, which caused the power to cut out, affecting the room's temperature.

Breakfast: 3/5 The breakfast was a redeeming quality, offering a cozy bed and breakfast vibe. However, it wasn't what we expected for the price.

Overall As someone who has traveled to over 35 countries and worked in hospitality in Las Vegas, I was surprised by the hotel's good reviews. Our experience was disappointing, with the exception of the location and blackout...

I booked a room here more than two months in advance for my trip and noted being a single traveler. I received a confirmation even after my initial booking that I was all set for a DOUBLE room and even triple checked the weeks and days before my travel dates.

Upon arriving to check-in to the hotel, I was put in the smallest single room I have seen in a very long time. (I say this knowing that European hotel rooms are usually quite small compared to other countries. I travel A LOT.)

I contacted the front desk and was connected to the manager who although was semi apologetic, explained that I had booked a room for a single traveler and despite THEIR EMAIL CONFIRMATION sent to me stating I had a double room, they had too many guests and I was being moved to a single room. They just said it was an error and blamed me for booking as being a single traveler. They didn't even contact me prior to my arrival to let me know of the room change or to give me an advance chance to find another hotel before my international travel. I am too tall for the twin bed and ended up having to find another hotel while there, after over 48 hours of traveling.

I would also like to note that there is a ton of construction happening inside of the hotel that I was not made aware of during any of my booking or confirmations.

I have never written a negative review like this about a hotel but I will tell everyone and anyone I know to never book...
