Argentia Jewels — Local services in Rome

We came by this store by accident in a street in February 2024 and were drawn in by the amazing handmade jewellery. In the span of 2 days we went by three times. The first time the owner was very kind and patient and let me try on all the different options. I found a handmade silver ring i absolutely loved but because we are young and we were travelling on a budget we decided to think about it. Later that day we came back and bought it.

We were so happy with the ring that we decided to go back the next day to buy my girlfriend one too. Again we were helped very well, being allowed to touch and try everything in sight. There was an aquamarine ring that had caught my girlfriends eye. The owner said it was so expensive because of the REAL aquamarine stone. But because it was so expensive we wanted to make sure that it was real. While in the store we were looking up how to check if the stone was real.

I had explained that we are young and dont have a lot of money, so we wanted to make sure that we were happy with what we were buying. By now the owner had seen that we were checking if it was real. And was trying to look at what we were doing on the phone. Suddenly we weren't allowed to hold the ring ourselves anymore, "in fear of scratching the silver" even though up to that point it had been completely okay. And very quickly after she started telling us we can 'buy it or not' and that she 'did not have all day'. She became very rude at the end and we didn't feel confident buying it anymore. It gave us the feeling it might have been a really nice but fake stone, and she had been dishonest and didn't want us to find out. Overall, nice jewellery. My fiancé and I planned to use our extended visit to Rome to find our wedding rings for our upcoming June wedding in Seattle, WA (United States). We looked in so many stores in wonderful Rome . One night as we walked back to our temporary Roman home we discovered Argentia Jewels, a beautiful store in the Monti District. Almost right away we found rings we both loved and a master jeweler who made the rings of our dreams for our upcoming wedding. Roberta worked with us on the design every step of the way and she is such a devoted and incredibly gifted artist!

We feel so lucky to have the most beautiful rings as ours to celebrate a precious milestone.
