We were looking for a place to have a dinner. Unfortunately in several restaurants at the area they didn't have ravioli, so when we saw ravioli in the menu we decided to try this place The decoration looks very nice when you look through the window from the street, when you come in, it is a little too much. So we ordered mixed salad, it was cabbage, carrots and few tomatoes. Cabbage was not fresh. No dressing at all! Tasteless. When we mentioned that, the waiter made a face and brought us salt, pepper, oil and vinegar.. marinated eggplants for the starter were good. Then eggplant parmigiana, was the worst one I ever tried. Pure oil! Very heavy. Almost no tomato sauce. Ravioli with ricotta and spinach, very few spinach, so few that there was no green colour at all. And it was only 3 huge ravioli again almost no sauce. We asked to add some sauce to our dishes, the waiter told us ten times it is impossible and was trying to show something in the menu. But we insisted. He took our plates and brought them with more tomato sauce. That were just very cold canned tomatoes on the top of our dishes. But since my eggplants were so oily that I felt sick, I couldn't eat them. So I just ate that cold tomatoes. Service - terrible! The waiter was very rude, loud and unpleasant. Passing by he pushed me really hard, didn't apologise, didn't even stop. We had to ask for...
Read moreThis place is absolutely amazing. I cant believe it is only 3.9 stars as I write this. Set in the lesser known to tourists area of Rome called Monti this gem of a restaurant absolutely blew my partner and I away. Old fashioned and cluttered it is exactly what I suspect old trattorias would have been like. We had an antipasti platter to start which was recommended by the waiter, a bottle of Montepulciano de Abruzzo red and then I had Tortellini e Funghi whilst my partner had traditional and Carbonara. The food was quite simply the best Italian food I have ever eaten.
Throughout our whole visit the traditional Italian music was played and the waiters moved around the restaurant singing and creating such a brilliant experience for everyone. The night was topped off when the owner asked my partner up to dance. He was an exceptionally gifted dancer and he swept my partner off her feet. It was such a fun night of food and entertainment and although we are only in Rome for 4 nights to celebrate my 40th Birthday and would normally choose to eat in different places each night we have already decided to go back on our last night.
There is a review on here that describes this place as Italian Chinese. Please ignore that review as that is for the place across the road. Someone has clearly gotten the...
Read moreAfter long exhausting day in Rome walking about sites, we found this amazing interesting place for dinner. It was Sunday evening. Can really tell much from outside the Restaurant. But as soon as you walk in , seems like you travelled to different place. I can even say how does it look, its different, so much to see inside, the atmosphere at down stair part is just astonishing, wow... We got seated straight away, nice welcome feeling. Drinks were cheap, a bottle of beer €4, can beet that. Large selection of wine too. Menu wise its a bit complicated, at least for me, There is stuff that not in the menu and you can order that like ANTI PASTA starter, oh man that was good, we were a lil sceptical at the beginning, but take a look at the photo, 4 person starter looked like a main dish. Main dishes were very nice, Ravioli with Beef is brilliant, Pizza was very good. Our waiter was absolutely brilliant all night, he deserved all that tip we left. Also had live Piano music playing from 8pm, and the place it self is very warm and cozy. We will go back when back in Rome. This place left us a very good Rome Restaurant expierience. Loved it so much. The place is like a random...
