Taverna Urbana — Restaurant in Rome

We were looking for a traditional Italian place to eat lunch in Rome, we found this family place with top ratings and could not wait to try. Unfortunately, the experience was beyond satisfactory. Food and atmosphere were good but the service was terrible. We came at 1pm, there were no people inside but the waiter looked at us and claimed every table was reserved. We said we just wanted to have a quick lunch (we are two adults plus 5 y.o. kid). The waiter was clearly unhappy with us but let us sit outside at a tiny table. When we asked for recommendations he rolled his eyes and said: everything is good here, I don’t know what you like. We ordered Sauvignon blanc, he nodded and brought a bottle of Chardonnay instead. I ordered pasta and he brought ravioli instead. It started to rain and we asked to move inside, he again said it was all reserved (wtf?!), I demanded it saying the kid was wet and cold, they rolled their eyes and let us sir next to the door. I thought ok maybe it’s famous Italian service but other guests started to arrive and they were super nice to them, recommending from menu, smiling, letting them try wine first etc - normal service! What was wrong with us I never knew. So disappointed and not recommended - who knows what they will...

Two weeks ago, I visited Rome for the first time. After trying several restaurants around the area, my experience at this particular restaurant was truly exceptional.
