“Worst Hotel Experience in Italy! Inconsistent and Disappointing – A Warning to Future Guests”
My stay at this hotel in Rome was, without question, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the staff were more focused on business than on hospitality, treating guests as transactions rather than people. I tried to pay directly than through third part booking sites but that’s the mistake I made. They repeatedly used unclear language to manipulate situations and seemed to prioritize profit over ethics or guest satisfaction. They fooled us on the name of trust.
I stayed at this hotel twice in the same week, and the difference between the two experiences was shocking. During my first stay, I was given a decent room, and the staff member who assisted me was helpful and polite. However, on my second stay, things couldn’t have been more different.
When I returned, I was met by a group of staff at reception who seemed intent on creating confusion rather than helping. Their behavior was so confrontational, and they even seemed to be working together to pressure and mislead me. I made the mistake of trusting them and paid for the room before seeing it. But when I finally saw what I paid, I was taken aback.
Be cautious if they ask you to sign anything; I learned the hard way to read every detail, as they aren’t transparent. They also insisted on payment before I had the chance to see the room, and when I finally did, I was shocked. The room was cramped, poorly ventilated, and uncomfortable. The water temperature in the bathroom was impossible to manage—either scalding hot or freezing cold, with no in-between.
The most upsetting part was the attitude of the staff. They were dismissive, unhelpful, and downright unkind, especially toward women. I felt as though they had no empathy and were more than willing to play with guest’s emotions. This experience was so distressing that I’ll never consider staying here again or recommending it to anyone.
If you value comfort, respect, and transparency, I strongly urge you to...
Read moreThe staff was rude and lacked understanding. I booked a room for one person because my girlfriend was taking the train out of town later the same evening and I was leaving at 4 am the following day. When I checked-in the staff stated my girlfriend was not allowed to come up to the room and her bag was not allowed to be stored in the room during the day. After explaining she would not be staying the night they allowed me to drop both bags in the room if I claimed them as my own, but they would not let her go up to the room. When I asked to upgrade my room just to allow her to have the opportunity to shower before her train, two members of the staff began yelling and stating there was no way they would allow her to go up to the room. (The actual difference between a one person and two person booking at the time was 10 euro.) I asked what price it would take to allow her to take a shower and they repeatedly screamed 70 euro more than what I already paid for my room. They were loud and rude for no reason. I would have happily paid more anywhere else had I known how rude the staff was at this hotel. Also, in our time of sitting in the lobby, we witnessed the staff be just as rude to other guests for various reasons. In all my visits to Rome I have never had such a bad experience. I do not...
Read moreThis hotel was such a marvellous experience, we had a lot of fun and there were no complications with our rooms. The service was great and the breakfast-buffet was a blessing for our stomachs. There was endless food from we think 8-11a.m. and they served us as much orange juice as we could ask for. We were four people in our rooms and the best thing about our room was the balcony. Although it was not the biggest we had ever seen, there was enough space for most of us and we could just sit on the balcony and relax while enjoying the beatiful sunsets over rome. The hotel is in an exraordinary area (in a good way), because it was very quiet and not as crowded as some other places. Another great plus-point for this hotel was the wonderful connection to the public networks. The only negative point we have experienced were slight problems whilst on the streets after a certain time, but that is not really a problem of the hotel, but of rome itself. We therefor advise you to, firstly, try to avoid quiet side alleys and the area around the roma termini after 22:00. Another great extra for this hotel is its proximity to the santa maria maggiore, a basilica well worth a visit and only about two...
