Not recommended for light sleepers or families with kids. We were placed in a separate building (the hotel has several nearby). The room itself was okay, but the closed(!) windows let in all the street noise and smells—especially cigarette smoke. Even though the windows were double-glazed, it made no difference; it seemed like there were large gaps around them. You can see the video that I made inside the room and hear all the noise from the street. The windows were closed. They are not soundproof. When we asked to be moved because of our two small children, a tacky Russian-speaking receptionist laughed and said, “Go buy earplugs.” The hotel did nothing to address the issue. We’ve been traveling across Europe, always staying in central locations, and have never experienced such extreme noise before. It also felt like we were sharing the apartment with another family behind a thin connecting room door—we could hear every word and even the sound of them unzipping their bags, and they could hear us too. There was no Wi-Fi in this building (the Wi-Fi signal exists, but the Internet did not work). The reception was aware of the issue and they added that the room phone also works over Wi-Fi, so no connection to the reception. Also when we pulled the safety alarm in the shower, nobody came to check. While the location is convenient, it’s right next to the Trevi Fountain, which means you have to push through crowds with your luggage and keep an eye on your pockets. Overall, a very disappointing stay.

Hotel Trevi Rome experience was horrible. Upon checked was made to feel completely unwelcome by the person at the desk. A horrible check in process instead of finding our confirmation in the computer, we have to provide a copy of the original booking, completely unnecessary and frustrating in today’s technology. We get out room which is down an alley way with 2 security doors to be brought to a room that should never have been rented especially for the price we paid. The room had carpet and it was stained and filthy. The bathroom cabinets and furniture was peeling and beaten. The phone didn’t work, the WiFi/internet didn’t work. There was no water in the room even though they wanted to charge for it. Complaints brought nothing other than I’ll tell the manager. We were not moved. We didn’t get what we asked for. And we had no concessions for such a horrible experience. See photos of carpet and bath counter.

The hotel was very conveniently located to the Trevi fountain and easy to get to other local attractions. We booked it for location. It is a little weird that the rooms are a bit away from the main lobby. Around a couple of corners, maybe a 2-3 min walk. So you have to walk a little to get breakfast every morning. Breakfast was very nice and adequate. My room (#549) was very modern, spacious and clean. I loved the windows that opened up overlooking the streets below. This is the view from the windows. My friend stayed at the same hotel and did NOT have the same experience. Her room was older and much smaller and a couple floors above ours. There was a little noise throughout the night being this close to a popular destination. There ARE city hotel taxes that have to be paid at ALL hotels throughout Italy. We paid them in Sorrento, Rome and Venice. Be prepared for that.

I stayed at Hotel Trevi from 15-17 Aug 2025. The hotel is walking distance from Trevi Fountain which is a central location not far from other attractions such as The Colosseum and Vatican City. I read previous reviews warning people not the stay here but I still decided to try it since it was a reasonable price for the location. Honestly my only complaint about the hotel was that Room 604 had a faulty AC unit that did not cool down the room or the room itself is poorly insulated not allowing it to maintain a comfortable temperature during scorching August heat. We went out right after arriving after dropping our bags off in the room. When we returned that night exhausted from the day the room felt like a sauna. I immediately went to the front desk to complain and the front desk clerk just sent the same gentleman that helped bring our bags to our room earlier. This man was not a mechanic and the clerk did not even offer another room at the reception desk. The gentleman cleaned the AC filter which upon opening was completely blocked with dust and debris and filthy. They definitely do not clean the AC units it seems. However that did not fix the problem the AC was at the lowest possible temperature on the settings on Cool and Fan on the highest possible output and the room was still unbearably hot. We were sweating the entire time. The gentleman had informed us that unfortunately the hotel was fully booked and there were no other rooms available and that I would have to take time out of my limited schedule to go to the front desk again the following morning at 8am to demand another room. Note that I only stayed for 2 nights. I had plans already purchased to go see attractions in Rome and going to reception to fight for another room I may or may not get was cutting into my vacation time since my next stop is to go to the port to get on a cruise. I feel that the front desk did not respect my time nor value me as a paying patron. I was given a room that was about a block away from the reception on the first floor. The room at first glance was very clean however little bugs make their way into the bathroom probably through the vents and of course the AC was not working. Something that I didn’t realize immediately or I never would have stayed there. I had to take ice cold showers multiple times just to keep cool. The location of this hotel is great but the staff clearly do not care about guests concerns or complaints and they do service the room everyday it seems since when I returned my second night the bed was made and we were given fresh towels. I didn’t bother complaining at checkout to the different clerk working the counter since I know they have no power to do anything. I had a negative experience but that doesn’t mean you will. Some people in the same building as me on higher floors looked pretty happy when they were coming in from their activities. I would still recommend this hotel based on its central location and its modern upgrades. I would personally prefer a refund due to my...

We were very unimpressed with this hotel and if we were spending any more than the one night I would have gone elsewhere, knowing full well our booking was non-refundable. This was our last night of a two week holiday in Italy and we wanted to splurge a bit and stay somewhere “nicer” so willing to pay more than many other places. Trevi Fountain was the last stop on our travels so decided to stay at the Trevi Hotel. Read the reviews and looked at the pictures and felt confident we made a good choice. Then we got there. To start, the girl at the front desk was not overly friendly, it took forever to get checked in and there was no bathroom in the lobby. Then, they didn’t even put us in a room in the hotel building. They checked us in then proceeded to walk us out the door, down an alley, and into to a totally separate building. The “lobby” contained an old dingy couch and some cleaning equipment. It felt like we had walked into a broom closet. It was so dark we could hardly see and it stunk of mildew. The hallway was so tight the luggage almost didn’t fit through. There were a few other rooms with doors all very close together and we could hear EVERYTHING. The room was small and dark and had an awkward ledge in the floor we kept tripping over. The “queen” bed was just two singles pushed together. The bathroom had no fan and no window and the shower leaked. After showering, the whole hotel room had filled up with hot steam and the floor was wet. The air conditioning didn’t work. The fan turned on but seemed to be circulating air from someone else’s bathroom as it immediately added a pungent smell to the already uncomfortable environment. So we decided to open the window to let in fresh air, only to discover the window was adjacent to the entrance of an archeological building in the narrow alley and it was filled with tourists. As we were on the ground level we now faced about 30 people looking straight into our hotel room. And this was how it stayed until about 9pm. Then from 9 until about midnight we were subjected to constant noises of businesses taking out their bottles and trash and cigarette smoke wafting in the window (which every time we shut were reminded of the reason we opened it to begin with), then the street cleaner woke us up around 6:30am blasting water onto the wall right outside our room. We had to shut the window to stop the spray from coming right in. Breakfast was okay, other than having to trek back to the main building, take the elevator to the 4th floor, then climb the stairs to the fifth floor where the breakfast room was. The whole experience was...

I wish I could give 0 stars. Run from these cheats as fast as you can!

We took the risk after reading mixed reviews about the customer service and rooms. Unfortunately, our experience with this hotel was not a pleasant one.

First, they charged my card for the full price of the room (almost $400) before we arrived, then charged us the full price of the room again at checkout saying the first charge was a hold and would be refunded. I understand reservation and damage holds, but I’ve never experienced needing to pay $800 at once for a hotel room for one night, even if the first charge dropped off a few days later.

Next, almost the entire staff is incredibly rude. The younger gentleman that helped us find our room (which was in a completely different building down the street for some reason) was huffing and puffing, and rolling his eyes the entire time. The entire desk staff made us feel like we were inconveniencing them with our presence.

We booked a nicer level room because of the hot tub/jet tub, only to find that the drain stopper was broken and the tub would not hold water. We walked back to the desk to notify them, in which they sent one of the staff to follow us back to the room and confirm the tub was broken. He took the broken piece out of the tub, confirmed the tub would not work correctly until repaired, and said he would get maintenance to fix it the following day (unfortunately for us we wouldn’t experience this since we booked a one night stay).

Because of the broken tub, I sent an email requesting any kind of refund or accommodation since we would have just booked a cheaper room had we known it wouldn’t work. Days later, I get an email response saying that we never notified them that anything was broken, and that customers had our room the day before and after us and it worked for them.

This company should probably review its camera footage of their staff coming to the room with us to confirm we were correct before calling us liars, but what can ya do?

My recommendation, the location is great but there are tons of other hotels with great locations. Don’t stay at Hotel Trevi.

Pros: The location is amazing and walking distance to anywhere.

Cons: Rude staff Double charge for room Broken amenities Will cheat you for your money and try to...
