Me and my finance plus my brother and his girlfriend from England recently had the pleasure of dining at Il Chianti Veneria, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a charming Italian atmosphere situated near the famous Trevi Fountain and the narrow streets filled with tourists that by itself was the perfect mood for a delightful meal.
The menu offered a wide variety of authentic Italian dishes, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauces were rich and flavorful. I particularly enjoyed the Ravioli, which was one of the best I’ve ever had. The wine selection is extensive, and the staff was very knowledgeable in helping us choose the perfect pairings for our meal.
What truly sets Il Chianti Veneria apart is the impeccable service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about ensuring a wonderful dining experience. They went above and beyond to make our evening special, from the moment we walked in to the final bite of dessert.
If you’re looking for an authentic Italian dining experience with top-notch food and outstanding service, I highly recommend Il Chianti Veneria. I can’t wait to return! But then again I am an English man born in London and have been living here in Rome for the...
Read moreThis was my first dinner in Rome and Il Chianti did not disappoint. There is both indoor and outdoor dining with a casual chic elegance. The food was truly.... delicious. The Il Chianti Salad with mozzarella, spelt crunch, and cherry tomatoes was so tasty to start. Newsflash! I don't normally care for tomatoes but these were not like any I've tasted. The gorgozola and berry jam from the charcuterie plate was a crazy tart cheese pairing with the sweet finish. Mua! 🤌🏽 Next was the Pasta e Fagioli which is a pasta and bean soup, with a broth that truly warmed my soul on a cold winter's night, followed by a truly ancient Roman pasta dish, Cacio e Pepe which is something I could eat everyday!! For dessert I tried the Tortina de Caldo al Cioccolato?? Which was like a chocolate molten cake without the chocolate lava. Instead, there was a mild custard on the side to pair with the richness of the chocolate. The server was very friendly an accommodating. This is a Tuscan restaurant, so the wine list is exclusive to that region with Manu variations of Chianti and other white wines. I found a red blend with Barbera and Merlot grapes that was divine since I wasn't in the mood for a sweet red wine...Have you ever has a meal that just truly made you happy? I would gladly return to Il Chianti when...
Read moreI read great things about this restaurant and was excited to try. We didn’t have a reservation so we patiently hopped in the long line outside with others. While chatting with others, we all got hungry and jokingly agreed we would eat anywhere and anything as long as they took us in. Well 45 min later we watched the host let several people walk in front of the line because ‘they were willing to eat inside’ … the whole line was willing to eat inside. no one informed us that the line was for the outside patio and several folks got very upset. when we got seated inside, there were so many open tables i can’t believe we waited that long. They tucked us in a corner and while the food was pleasant, we were sadly forgotten about. Our server acted like we were an inconvenience to be seated inside her section. I had to ask several times for water and for dirty plates to be removed. We waited a very long time for food and then our mains were brought about about 20min apart. At the end when we went to pay she asked us for a tip and then asked us how much we would tip which was kind of awkward. We were going to tip anyway but didn’t like the exchange about it. The food was decent so I won’t write this place off, but the overall service and experience...
