The restaurant looks good and the location is great. The service wasn't the best. The server we had was very short and borderline rude a couple of times. I'm italian and took my canadian husband there, unfortunately as a local, I should have noticed this is a restaurant for tourists since they had things on the menu that are really not typical of italy. I was disappointed with the Tagliere that had basically nothing local and the cheese that was served to us what the "butt" so it was all crust so we couldn't even eat most of it and the olives were the typical store bought ones that you can find anywhere in the world and all of that was 18 euros, ridiculous. They asked if I wanted focaccia, which normally in an Italian restaurant is covered by il coperto, just to find out i was charged 6 euros, they could have at least warned me. I mean you bring a tagliere with no bread? What kind of Italian restaurant does that? Most items on the menu were a bit overpriced and the Amatriciana and the Carbonara were ok but really nothing out of the ordinary. The server kept pushing for me to get wine and was rude when I said I was ok with just water. Waited over 45 mins to get the pasta, waited almost 15 mins to get the bill, and had to get up and walk to the other side of the restaurant to go pay. They could have easily said right away to go to the other side to pay instead of having us waiting for so long. The server then apologized and said they were too busy to attend every single table they way they "should have".Sorry but that's not a good excuse when you run a restaurant in Rome beside the Trevi fountain. Paid 8 euros and change for what's called Maggiorazione, which i believe is supposed cover the coperto charge, which i don't quite get since we paid for water and bread, but whatever, that's how italy works i guess. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately the overall experience...

Read moreOur first night in Rome we took a chance on this place near the Trevi Fountain and were so glad we did. Going in blind. No expectations (besides good food) we were greeted by Porag and Bart who waited on us. On the first night, when they learned we were celebrating the 16th anniversary of our engagement, Porag brought our desert on a platter he decorated himself. We started our two week trip through Italy in Rome and we had such a wonderful dinner and experience with them.
So we decided we would see them again when returned to Rome two weeks later to end our trip. No reservation- once again we took a chance. The restaurant was much busier so we were going to be seated out of their station. A different waitress sat us down elsewhere in what we discovered was a much more expansive and beautifully designed space. We were happy to sit there so I simply said hello to Porag who immediately insisted on seating us at his station.
Within minutes we were moved and they treated us like good friends the remainder of the evening. These two were the some of the warmest and most charming staff we had experienced our entire trip. The are very sweet and attentive men who really love their job. Following our last meal with them were handed a very special gift. Amazing!
These guys- this place is top notch. The food is excellent and the service is outstanding! It IS NOT a tourist trap location.
Thank you Porag and Bart for making our time in Rome...
