Captain Candy is a fun, eye-catching candy shop that instantly grabs your attention with its whimsical displaysâthink colorful barrels overflowing with oversized gummies, unique chocolates inside a treasure chest box, and nostalgic treats. Itâs a pick-your-own candy experience that feels more like a mini adventure than a simple stop for sweets.
While prices arenât cheap (understandable given the tourist location), itâs really about the funâso we made it a point to grab at least 1-4 each kind for all of us to try. A helpful reminder: youâre expected to wear gloves when picking your candy, though some might overlook it. Itâs worth mentioning to help maintain a clean and enjoyable experience for everyone.

A nice break from the gelato or wine (also delicious) if you are wanting something sweet. I found some candies that seem to be unavailable in the U.S. Like this fruit gum. Biggest downside is the price. My bag of gum shown here was âŹ30. There are no more than 70 pieces of gum in this bag. I had already filled the bag, and I was too embarrassed to return it to the self-serve bin. I even asked the cashier if that price was correct and he confirmed it was.    Read moreInsane prices due to the location beside Trevi Fountain. You pay by weight like most places but at a much higher rate! You dont know what your bag weighs until you pay then you are in for a shock..I got jellies for my children. Probably œ filled the bag .. âŹ24 !
Also noticed there is a significant risk here of dangerous cross contamination if you have a nut allergy. There are peanut items and you pick up your sweets using a glove. So if someone picks up peanut sweets, then picks up gummy bears (for example ) using the same glove .. you can see the issue.. and people generally do seem to just use one glove for everything...
