Roman And Italian — Hotel in Rome

Visited twice, exactly 2 years apart in May 2010 & 2012, and we used the hotel in a way most probably do when coming to Rome: we slept here, we showered here and we spent nearly every other minute living the Roman life outside.||||Firstly, this is a wonderful location literally outside a metro (subway) station (which only costs £1 a ticket each time) and is only 10 minutes walk from the colosseum. The hotel itself is in a beautiful roman city apartment house which is so authentic and charming, there are just a couple of rooms but you get a very warm welcome and are told everything you need to know when you arrive.||||Both visits we had the same double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, everything worked as it should, it was clean, modern looking (the bathroom). The room itself has all amenities you require; wardrobe, tv, fridge etc. If you are up for 8am you will get a coffee and a croissant (they are amazing!) Outside the door.||||You get a key for the secure door (good as it certainly makes you feel that!) And you can hear all the hustle and bustle of the city cone ans go past the window- not too much mind, as you can close the window and it blocks out the noise. ||||You will find downstairs there is a little shop that does fresh espresso coffee and snacks of great quality so if your feet are exhausted from walking Rome all day you don't have far to go to get refreshments.||||This place isn't the grandest of places, but its quaint, quiet and quality and above all, amazing value for the price. With a friend we stayed one night in the Roman and Italian B&B. The location is perfect, only 5 minutes away from the central station by foot, about 10 minutes by foot from the coliseum, we really enjoyed the location that permited us to reach the main sightseeings of Rome. We saved money by not using the public transportation, and we also enjoyed walking into the city.||We received a very warm welcome from the manageress who was the nicer I have ever met at an hotel. She was very sincere with us and absolutely helpfull. She tooks much time to speak with us and it was very nice. She really care about us and understood that my friend couldn't that much speak english and adapted that she said by speaking slower. It is rare to get a so much heartfelt welcome that it worths be emphasized here.||The room was clean and spacious. The beds were very confortable : we slept very well. There is an air conditionning system, we still didn't used because of the very good isolation and the nice temperature we were looking for.||The bathroom was shared, but still free all the time we needed it (one bath for 3 rooms is absolutelly ok). It was well furnished and clean.||We have taken a nice italian breakfast with a cappuccino and a croissant at a bar 20 meters away, that was included in the price. Me and my partner went to Rome for our anniversary just for the weekend and booked Roman & Italian as a accommodation. The booking was confirmed over 2 weekend before our arrival, the day before our arrival I sent email to the property with check in time request but never got any reply. On the day of our arrival when we got to the Roman & Italian location decided to give a call to the owner to sort out check in time due to no reply from previous day. The owner answer the phone, spoke very poor English and told me that is impossible to check in as from things that I understood they are fully booked. Anyway the owner said that will call me back in 5 min. We have waisted over 2 hours waiting for her to call back as she never was going to do this.I tried to call her in a meantime several times but every attempt was finishing with voice mail or no possibility to call as she switch off her phone! ||Disrespectful behaviour! We felt fully disappointed and disrespected! Never had such a awful experience with any property owner. No contact, no information provided and fully ignorance of the customers. ||We left without alternative accommodation, waisted time and it definitely spoiled our weekend causing lots of stress, thanks to good customers service of the website that we used to book Roman & Italian we were lucky to be provided with some alternative...
