I booked this apartment due to the good review on TripAdvisor. Centrally located and recently fitted , the first impression was great. Everything is zero touch , access info sent one prior to arrival , all communications is via the Sonder apps including early check in request (which cost money depending on the requested time). There is a staff at the reception that operates from 8am to 7pm daily. Upon entering the unit , it looks very decent and well laid out with most of the details taken care of. The only missing item which I thought is rather important is the safe deposit box for storing important documents and money , and maybe indoor disposable snickers for use due to hygiene purpose. This is where my adventure begins. There is totally no instructions on how to operate the central heating system , insulation hob/hub , dishwasher , etc. if this style of living space is the way to go , it better be something that is self explanatory. I spent a good one hour trying to figure out the gadgets and still could not get them working the way how I expect it to function. I message through the apps and getting instructions on the messaging platform on how to troubleshoot. They even do a video call with me to get it fixed but to no avail. He then attended to my unit personably and found that the control was not responding. As it was late , I have to bear with the extremely hot temperature for the night and was promised that the maintenance will fix it the following morning. The next day , I believe they send someone to my unit and instead of fixing the problem , they just preset the room temperature to what I desire. I tried the control panels again and still could not get it working. That is how they fix the problem and with no subsequent follow up to inform me of what has been done. Frying pan was found to be not suitable for insulation stove when we tried using it , the heater in the toilet was not working until we raised it to them , etc etc. I do like the concept of living like a digital nomad but things have to work (almost) perfectly , else it does not make sense at all. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done to make this a feasible option for travellers. The least we want to face are problems like these and having to raise it to a mailbox and getting instructions through messaging. Just...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Horrible stay and fell in the trap of beautiful apartment photos and condition. After reading all the great reviews about how great the apartment is and more my family and I took the chance to stay at Sonder first time. Who knows how much they paid for reviews or marketing tactics because this apartment is not advertised like how it really was. We traveled 3 adults, a toddler, baby and heavily pregnant and walked into the apartment to be greeted with holes in the ball, mold on the ceiling, banged up walls/scratches, broken toilet seat, broken closet doors and hidden fees such as fresh towels everyday with a cost. We immediately upon arrival addressed the issues which the management did respond quickly and “address”. The technician simply painted over a hole in the wall and did basic repair but not fully resolving the main issue like the mold since this needed extensive work. The apartment was not inspected beforehand and clearly was in bad condition. After attempting to stay a couple of days we did not want to risk our children’s health let alone my pregnancy health to an apartment filthy with mold and problems. We checked out early and asked for nothing simply concerned about our health and refused to stay longer in a filthy apartment and instead of the management understanding and addressing the issues clearly, they became defensive and was completely unprofessional. This is not a fake review and you will immediately see the management response being defensive to this review or “understanding” yet we checked out early and nothing was done to resolve the issue afterwards. You will see there response “we addressed the issues immediately” which all they did was send a technician up to do a quick paint job and basic repair. That’s all. Read moreThis Sonder apartment was MASSIVE. Came here w my best friend from the army. Got a huge 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment on the 3rd floor. The place had a great espresso machine and unlimited espresso capsules (you just get them from the lobby-help yourself). Huge bathrooms. Huge living room. Huge bedrooms. Room just for washer and dryer machine. Huge pantry room. Beautiful furniture. Huge TVs. Seamless check in and check out. I came at 11 at night and I couldn’t figure out how to turn on the air conditioning.I messaged Sonder local team on WhatsApp and Allen, the local Sonder employee came to my apartment in literally 7 minutes and helped me turn on the air conditioning. He was such a nice man and bc we asked he gave us recs for his favourite local espresso place and pizza place. This sonder is located very close to the main train station and the famous fountain right in the heart of the city. Fabulous and super cheap espresso on the corner of the block at a cute little kiosk. I am obsessed w Italy, obsessed w this apartment, and obsessed with this company. I understand they are opening more and more locations in Rome, Milan and Venice and all over Europe. Can’t wait to travel to their other apartments. After staying w Sonder it’s a crime to pay 3x for a local hotel only to get 1/4 the value for your money. Impressed and in love. I am only staying with Sonder from now on.
